Scotty Mac takes pole and Penske shut out the front row. That's the fastest average qualifying lap, 234.220 mph.

The last row session was very boring with just four cars.

The top 12 session was amazing.

The NBC scoring graphics are awful.

It would have been great to have had more than 34 entries. However, I still thought there was plenty of intrigue, as to who was going to get through. At one point it looked like 2022 winner Marcus Ericsson was going to go out and then it looked like Graham Rahal might fail to get through for the second year in a row and there was Rookie Nolan Siegel in his first 500. Not to mention Katherine Legge.

Thought it was fine with just one on the outside looking in. Ericsson not waiting until the very end to go was better to give Siegel the chance to go and put Rahal on the bubble too

I thought it was extra intriguing because of the cruelty of only one person not making the race. The way the cars work you can't just go out and run laps, you have to let the engine cool for max power, so that is just how it works. everybody runs once and then waits to go again.

I found it more interesting than the Top 12 or Top 6. The cars were really interesting to watch. The attitude, the drivers had to really drive, or not. From that perspective it was tense. We see the cooling, the bump process again. It increased my understanding more. In some ways it captivated me more.

Although the real action is at the pointy end and that was cool. Super impressive driving and cars dynamics there.

Did you watch the NBC feed or the international feed?

The international feed is poor in comparison to the local US NBC feed.
