STEALTHY should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Thanks god the real motorsport season kicks off today

Interesting noise out of the Pukekohe powder room just now... that the 'dodgy cameras' as suggested above, may actually not be the case at all..

It seems that the control unit from MoTeC contains an SD card for recording the vision, and other inputs onto...

.... and that with the harsh environment inside a V8Supercar, the vibrations from the engine, the g forces from the acceleration/deceleration, the SD card has apparently loosened from its mountings and ultimately detached from the recording devices...

The story goes that this has allegedly been a known problem with the camera units for some time.. and happened to other teams virtually randomly... with the current supplier said to be on track with an upgrade to prevent such a reoccurrence in the near future..

Seems a very strange thing to have happened.. especially if it can be linked back to a faulty control component in the cars...

Presuming any of this actually happened

Took Frosty 14 laps to get past. Not so slow after ay

Surely there was an engineer or two more easily available?

There is some genuine speed in the #8 and #14 cars... not always great qualifying sessions.. but #8 gapped them all in the last race.. that hasnt been done to Mr Whincup in a similar Holden for some time...

Mr McLaughlin's hit was no small one either, he was badly winded there... the car didnt look too bad from the pics they shared, but you dont quite know if the chassis rails were hurt in the crash..

One of the most enjoyable weekends of V8 Supercar racing for quite a few years with some great racing, different winners and plenty of agro between teams and even team mates.A big congratulations to BJR and Brighty for their ongoing support of JR and his family.
With dive bombing being the growing fad, the final corner at Barbagello should be very entertaining.
Mr Premat continues to improve, but what happened to Jono Webb ?

Memo to FRP, tell frosty to stop kerb bashing his left rear tyre, it might last a full sprint race.

No sign of Mr Hallam in the footage - it was Tony Dowe that Larko was speaking to. Your point stands though - plus Tony is far, far too experienced to fall for a TV dude trying to stir some poo.

Terrific racing. Missed the first race from each day, and the qualifying. Did not expect Ch7 to kick off the coverage as early in the day as they did.

The bump and run rules need to go. Let them jostle and fight for position. If someone's turfed off the track, sure, hand out the penalty. But muscling your way through shouldn't be an issue.

So moves like Whincup did on Frosty should be encouraged? Bugger that, that was a plain dirty deliberate move. At least when Frosty hit him it was a lose and not planned.

A damn good weekends racing. I'm not a holden or bright fan, but that car and team wining the JR trophy was pretty special

Yes.

Winterbottom remained on the circuit, pointing in the same direction he was intending to travel.

Then go watch stock cars. Hit to pass is just dumb in circuit racing.
Having a rub when you're alongside might be ok, but hitting the guy in front as he turns in to unsettle the car so you can pass has no place in proper racing.

Some people have a short memory. Sandown 2012 was not that long ago, and the pass was exactly the same (bump and run) yet no penalty for FPR.

It was ok to do it years ago.

Only reason the rule is in place, is to try and keep the cars looking presentable to maintain a 'clean cut' image.
