Well, I hope they don't start the race like Rebellion did... was it last year with a stupid first lap crash?

Last three single car team wins were McLaren in '95, Joest in '97 and Goh in '04.

if I recall correctly in 1987 porsche fielded 3 rothmans 962c, one didn't qualify, the second 962c had an engine failure after just few laps leaving porsche with only #17 for the whole race. #17 won the race |

'Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe technical director Pascal Vasselon believes that the reduction in energy for the Alpine A480 Gibson was not a Balance of Performance adjustment but rather a “correction of a mistake” by the the FIA and ACO that will primarily affect the car’s refueling time.
“It looks like a mistake,” Vasselon told Sportscar365. “It has an importance on the refueling time as the refueling is proportional to the energy you consume. If you are allocated too much energy you don’t consume it and the refueling time will be reduced. We expect it to have an impact on their refueling time.”' https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...ay-notebook-6/ |

The refuelling time is proportional to the energy used in the previous stint anyway.
http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/Res...d_28042021.pdf See decision number 2. This brings it more in line with what the Alpine can actually do, but surely they had shorter stops anyway? Of course for Toyota they were stopping for the full 35s anyway. |

Does anybody knows when/if Alpine is going to make some kind of pronunciation about their future on WEC?

And we expecting them to commit? Did I read that a few days ago on here?
And potentially ask for another year of running the current car before full entry in 2023. EDIT: I just needed to look up a little. Quote:

They are making a big noise turning up with their F1 car so they must be announcing something and there is no way they could be ready with a new car for next year.

I guess the time of announcement depends on when the demo lap by Alpine F1 takes place. They'll probably want to use the media from the lap in the announcement materials. There's an item on the time table that says "Act commerciales - Track Laps from Chapelle to Ford Chicane" set to take place at 2 PM on Saturday (25 mins). Is it that?

Boo. I was, unrealistically, hoping for a hot lap.

It would be cool to see F1 and P1 do a demo run side by side! But on a Saturday that would be too disruptive for Signatech's race day prep, even if they use a spare R13.
It would also be quite ironic, since the "hypercar" is a rebadged Rebellion and the F1 car will likely be an older Renault rebadged as Alpine due to testing ban Not to mention that even the current Alpine F1 cars use 2-year old Renault chassis. |

Driver comparison
Below is a comparison of the driver performance for the two cars at Le Mans.
The chart shows the average lap time of each driver and how that develops by their fastest laps. i.e. who is more consistent. Lapierre had the fastest lap, was much more consistent and had the bulk of the laps. The other were within 0.5s of Lapierre's fastest lap, but average of the fastest 10 laps Lapierre was a good second faster. After that Negrao's consistency was about grew slowly to 1.5s behind Lapierre by the top 50 and Vaxiviere was another 0.9s slower than Negrao.
When the average lap time drops off it will be down to how many laps they did with slow zones, FCY, SC etc... |

Alpine is commiting to LMH from 2024 for 4 years. Pretty good news. First time ever that Peugeot and Renault will compete in thé same Championship. I wonder if thé A480 will be allowed to compete untul there…
