Also IIRC, GA's original vision of the DPs was a design of the cars closer to cars like a Porsche GT1 than a GTP-car. The first iteration of the Fabcar somewhat followed that idea, but Doran and especially Riley had other ideas.
The thing I never understood is why GA mandate a two-seater-layout, while at the same time mandating more room for the driver. I think the cars would look a lot better, if they had just one seat in the middle of the car and a slimmer cockpit.

Slimmer cockpit, then take 6 inches off of the roof and they'd be far more agreeable.
