Hi Tim, Try here - looks about right. http://www.ris-timing.be/~circuit//6hspa/2016/index.htm Nothing in the documents mind. But looks like there should be ..... Live timing had the results of the 6hrs qualifying here a couple of mins ago. http://www.ris-timing.be/v2/2016/09/ Last edited by grantp; 16 Sep 2016 at 21:52. |

Will those 911 times are interesting! Essex racing don't seem to be that quick. |

Would be fun, but I suspect a rebuild on my old cobbled together B series engine would come to considerably less! Better the devil you know, perhaps.....
I had some concern before coming here about Gilbert's LSD. The CW&P had been renewed and diff checked for the race, but I suspected the latter's preload was set too high. Even adding friction modifier to the oil didn't help, and so (having been here since Tuesday eve and not put a spanner on the car ) Iain and I decided lunchtime that running it in the race was too risky, so we swapped to my spare diff. This being a 3.9 rather than 4.1, we suspected it could take the edge off our lap times, but better to be over-geared rather than under. We did the work in the FJ paddock, as I couldn't get near my 'box' where tools were, and as usual with the lovely Junior folk, we soon had more hands than needed and the old diff was out in minutes. We then came up against a problem trying to fit the L/H half shaft back in, as the diff in the 3.9 drive is a 'Phantom' device, and the shaft was butting up to the cross pins before fully home. The shaft needed pressing further into the hub, but no big press in the paddock, so Iain jumped into Duncan R's car and drove down to the garage on the junction at Stavelot. The owner had a suitable press, but the shaft wouldn't budge! So an on the spot decision was made to cut 4mm off the end..... Back in the paddock, it slotted straight in and car was soon back on it's wheels. It only remained then for me to drive it down to Stavelot and back with GPS speedo on my phone working, so I could recalibrate the pit lane limit on the rev counter! So that's how we did qualifying. We could strip the other diff and attempt to fix, but probably won't. The LSD isn't so effective, but only occasionally noticeable, and our lap time with the higher ratio, on 2 year old tyres while not trying looked adequate. After a few laps we swapped to the 2015 tyres will be doing the race on, and fitted new pads. I then did another 3 laps bedding them before we retired to the bar- most others hammering round for another hour..... So hopefully car is now inside Box 38 in F1 pit lane (I had to leave it parked in the lane as Mirage lads had an F1 in bits in the way ), and will be up there soon to check car over for the race! Bring it on, whatever the weather! |

2017 being a non LMC year we intend to return with both Elva 160 GT and Porsche 356 in next years 6 hours.
Seems a long time ago since Gareth Burnett put my Merlyn on pole with a 2 49. Would have thought the Elva will do about 2 50's with 356 averaging 3 15's. So Will we take ancient one as mechanic and that's gets you a drive alongside Messrs Bell and Birch! Of course Irish bloke may want Will in Elva! Let's see but interested in how many pit stops GT 40's make .Seem to remember four but can't be sure. Someone on here will know. |

Very few of those GT40's have two/three quick drivers.
The owners are taking a hot shoe to give them a decent grid place, Roger Wills in good position and looking at time will finish up the front with a bit of luck. |

Struggling with bandwidth here but for now just a few mixed photos from earlier races. Haven't got time to batch them into races.
