I agree it would be great to see them race at Bathurst - one of my all-time fave tracks to visit...

Plus Laguna Seca - anyone who's ever raced there would be gagging to go back...

How about Oulton Park?

Knockhill??

Was there more than one Chrysler Stratus? Lithuanian Mindaugas Dainauskas is driving a Stratus in Baltic GT and it could be ex-Engström. (Stratus at Ahvenisto, Finland. 2005.)

You are right, but there has been no Bathurst 24 hours since 2003. I too would love to see WTCC at Bathurst (in an ideal world with FIA GTs too)

A total of Stratus (Strati?) were built--3 in 96, 2 in '97. One '96 was totalled? Whether the car is a '96 or '97 spec, that I wouldn't know? The '96 ones went to South America while the '97s went to the STCC if I recall correctly?

Yeah, the 5 Strati I'm talking about originally all came from the NATCC. Some eventually made their way to the South American and STCC series. I'm happy to hear they're still racing in the Baltic GT series!

E46 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Magazine news (good and bad):
Autopista says that Dodge will be in WTCC...in 2007. Daimler-Chrysler has interest in WTCC, and wanna improve Dodge image in Europe and Asia. Prodrive is building a car (Dodge surely), although manufacturer hasn´t been announced... yet.
Also Autopista says that Lotti confirmed Alfa Romeo for WTCC the next year with Alfa 147. Not bad at all.
Auto hebdo Sport has a rumour (nothing officially confirmed fortunately) about BMW, it says BMW Italy/Spain and BMW Great Britain could leave WTCC. Isn´t Priaulx rumored with Schnitzer for 2006?

The Dodge brand will be relaunched in Europe in 2006. Were Chrysler has a more 'luxery' image, Dodge will get a 'dynamic' image. So it would make sense to promote Dodge by racing.

Isn't the Punto rally car also developed by N.Technology/Nordauto?

Isn't BMW in Italy getting a lott of attention because of the succes of Zanardi?
There is indeed a rumour Jorg Muller has to leave Schnitzer and Priaulx will join Dirk Muller. But Priaulx has said in an interview he will stay at RBM. But if this is all true, does this mean there will be only 2 factory BMW cars?

In the ideal situation (in my opinion) every factory (BMW, Alfa, SEAT, Ford, Chevrolet) enters 4 cars. Besides this there are a handful of privateers. This will give a grid of 20...30 cars.

Unfortunaly in Europe there are almost no big companies who are interested in sponsoring racing teams (except F1). It would be great to have factory cars which are not only entered by manufacturers themself but also by privateers with budgets from companies (i.e. Mc Donalds, Dell, etc.)

I remeber private Alfa Romeo 155, from DTM '95 I think, with great McDonalds livery. So maybe it's possible to bring McD's (for example) money back to motorsport.

they usually had last years car in hands of privateers . maybe we'll have the 156 again next year ..
if BMW UK and Italy/Spain are out . that means only 2 BMW cars ??? . a bit low

regarding the Alfa Romeo . didn't we have something close to 2 teams entering the factory cars a couple of years ago . when Colciago was with them ???

I would hope if BMW UK are going anywhere it's towards the BTCC where they should be spending their money anyway.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Priaulx will join Schnitzer, replacing Jorg Muller, and BMW UK will move to the BTCC, with a two car team.

It would be a surprise only two official cars. BMW has had always several teams with works kit, i guess this rumour will rarely be true.

Alfa UK did have a car few years back too.

Regarding BMW again, I note there's a story being reported on btccpages that Shaun Watson-Smith flew over to Silverstone to see a few people and is reporting it as quite succesful. Could he be the driver for a BTCC entry ?

Vauxhall? Muller & SWS would be a pretty strong line-up.

And what perfect way to relaunch the Dodge brand and replacement for SX (aka Neon) with a WTCC effort. There's a new SX for '07. All the clues point to a WTCC effort. Let's hope that comes true!
