Another weekend with mixed results for the Maserati cars in the GT2 championship, this time at Hockenheim. Prette did very well with a AM class win in Race 1 (P2 overall), and a third place in the AM class in Race 2 (P6 overall). The other Maserati cars - driven by Leroy and by Gorini/Tamburini - had various issues throughout the weekend, and were only able to collect a few points.

Fantastic result for the Maserati GT2s in race 1 at Monza last weekend, with all podium places covered!! https://www.dailysportscar.com/2024/...-at-monza.html
Race 2 results a bit more mixed (still a P2 for Gorini and Tamburini) so the GT2 European Series will be decided in the last round of the season in Barcelona in two weeks' time. |

Last round of the 2024 GT2 European Series this weekend. Very strong win in race 1 yesterday for the Maserati driven by Pampanini and Calamia (Calamia was really flying in the race!). More mixed results in race 2 on Sunday, and the P2 in the AM class for Prette was unfortunately not enough to give him the class win in the series.

The last race in the series was evidently not finished until well after the flag. Because the on-track winner of the AM class was subsequently disqualified (https://www.gt2europeanseries.com/ne...ecure-am-title), Prette was promoted to P1 in the AM class in race 2, which also gave him the series title! As a result, the Maserati squad of LP Racing became victorious in the team championship for the AM class!! What seemed to have become a truly luck-less end to what had until then been a highly successful debut season for the Maserati GT2, turned into true cause for celebration Last edited by merak1974; 13 Oct 2024 at 21:23. |
