I would imagine it was possibly because the only reason, as far as I saw, was that Hill was only in a position to nudge Sutton because he had already side swiped Cammish. Maybe that is why there is a penalty.
Sorry , meant Rowbottom not Cammish Last edited by Mike Harte; 23 Apr 2023 at 13:02. Reason: Added correction. |

Interesting penalty. So it's now ok to drive over a cars nose and cause them to lift? That doesn't seem right.

One comment on car retrieval during the BTCC race is why do they insist on lifting an undamaged car that is just in the kitty litter instead of a quick tow, as they did without the need of a safety car during the Porsches.

Gobsmacked that Hill got a penalty for that. All I can think is that the onboards show that Hill could clearly see Sutton moving over in time to adjust for it but chose to keep his foot in. Seems harsh though as so much is going on at the start I would have penalised the driver making the dramatic change of direction if anything but it was a racing incident for me.

1 lap and safety car for btcc so another 10 laps for slow marshalls to move a car. 2 laps the safety car has been on track and still nothing. Useless.

I have to say, I've never seen such unprofessional pit stops. I understand BTCC doesn't normally include a pit stop, but several cars have pitted under this SC - the teams were so slow (and making absolutely zero effort to do it at any decent pace), which cost the cars a lap.

Not useless. Prevented from attending until the clerk allows access to the track. The Fear is becoming more and more prevalent.

I'm a couple of laps behind but this wets and slicks difference is pretty entertaining!

Nic Hamilton's going to get a 6th place by effectively coming second last.

Too many teams had dreadful pit stops which cost them a lap under yellow. And too many teams waited too long to even make the stop. |

Entirely agree. You've got to be in the right place at the right time, and they were. As was Chilton.

Please excuse my question. Im not sure it will really be answerable but i heard in the qualifying broadcast that the Ford and Toyotas had been extensively reengineered over the winter. However i thought that most of the car was made of RML spec parts? So what are they able to change other than the engine?

Can I breathe normally now please? That was brilliant!
The reverse grid draw is going to create something fun. Rowbo, Ingram and Turkington must be on tenterhooks, but just imagine 6 or 7 gets drawn! |

Think he got one in similar fashion in the Covid year. To be fair he kept it on the track in difficult conditions but could be a very interesting race 3 with some of the backmarkers up front!
