I agree that the Restart Line should be in the same place as the Start Line.
Empirically, no, this track isn't as narrow as some, like Road America. And aside from T7-9 and T3-4 (using the racingcircuits.info numbering), the track is at least 40 ft wide, like Mid Ohio or Barber. I imagine they want the Finish Line by the Pits to reduce confusion, and so it's in a place where they're able to have stands and the podium proceedings right there. As for confusion, the old IMSA street circuit at Columbus takes the cake. Lap count and delineation was taken on the straight between Turns 11 and 1. The start and restarts were on the straight between the Turn 2 hairpin and the T3/4 sweeps. Pit-In and -Out were on the outside of Turn 7. And the Finish Line was on the little stube between Turns 10 and 11. |

What the h is going on here?
Edit, ok TV actually caught it. Herta slowed WAY down behind the pace car and then when the front cars ducked in the safety car stopped to catch the field. But feels like Herta was screwing the field all day with the slowing before the restart so he deserves it. And he's NOT the leader from the camera, Eriksson and RHR ARE ahead of him and he's 5th not the leader I feel like every bit of excitement for the race has been destroyed. The TA2 guys managed to run a race without ANY of these problems and they're half amateur. |

I'd expect any other driver to work things to their advantage, so why does Herta deserve the hurt more than anybody else?

Race control is showing Rahal, Power, and Ferrucci on reds after the stop. I am pretty sure that Rahal started on reds, not sure about the other two. Interesting to see Rahal choose two stints on reds.

Another FCY. Looks like McLaughlin got punted by Power and Kellett ran into him.
Power should get a penalty for that. |
