Charging for series registration is a bit daft. I can understand it for something like BTCC but our little clubbies I completely agree with you. Wack on another fiver onto the entry fee if you have to. Fortunately the BARC DON'T charge for registration anyway so it hasn't been an issue for some time for me. Still smarts a bit having to join the BARC AND another club to race in a series (effectively a registration fee of sorts) but at least you get some benefit. With the CTCRC you get a newsletter, internet forum, hospitality bus, occassional freebies (they are doing a free tee shirt at the moment) etc and the possibility of cheaper self organised races so I don't begrudge it at all. Or at least I won't when I send the cheque off on the 1/1/2007!!! |

For me its time I don't have the time so look for best value.
I'd do Group 1 if I did have time. |

Similarly, I used to be in the BRSCC. Had to be, in order to race what I wanted to at the time.
However, £150 to join the BRSCC for a year, and another £150 to register for the 'championship' (even if you were only doing 1 or 2 races) was frankly a bit much. "Oh, but you get free entry to the Autosport Show". Woo. I also thought the Legends bailed out and went to the BARC? |

Yes, the Legends did move to the BARC.
In the DT&R championship you just have to belong to any recognised MSA club. |
