There are speculations in Argentine media that the San Luis venue is actually the legendary Portero de los Funes circuit.
If that is true, that would be an awesome addition to the grid. With Spa, Bathurst, Macau (potentially) the calendar is shaping nicely |

I thought the Potrero de los Fuenos Circuit was in trouble due to noise and environmental complaints and had to be dismantled... It was last used in 2018, no?

I'm pretty sure it's NIMBYs, not actual environmental issues.

Yes, we've had plenty of NIMBYs manage to affect circuits in the past.

World Tour and the local series will run in the same race but WT entries will use Khumo tyres and WT compensations weights but other entries use tyres and weights relevant to their local series. I assume points will be based on class result rather than overall results, so the highest placed local driver scores points for winning even if he was second overall. |

All of the series that TCR World Tour will race alongside will also be using Kumho tyres as well.
TCR Europe, TCR Italy, TCR South America, TCR Australia have all switched or already switched to Kumho tyres. TCR Asia Challenge will be Macau and will fall in line with the others. |

How is the playoff actually going to work, I understand that it includes the top 15 drivers from the 'World Rankings' - but if they don't want to travel to what ever country is hosting is the entry passed down the list? Are their logistic costs being subsidised?

I don't like having two equal races. I'd prefer a 20-minute sprint and a 40-minute feature.

TCR World Tour is such a great success that only 4 cars (from the same team) are announced so far!

“We will officially represent Audi Sport in the TCR World Tour,” explained Team Manager François Verbist. “We will enter four Audi RS 3 LMS cars in the nine events of this world calendar. In addition, we will also defend our titles in TCR Europe with four cars. In other words, when TCR World Tour and TCR Europe join forces, we will be fielding eight Audi RS 3 LMS cars!” Sorry - notice it's already been posted above. |
