In terms of the race - I'm not entirely sure that BTC Racing's performance was that markedly different to Speedworks'.

All 3 BTC cars were making progress up the field before non-performance issues moved them back.
Collard also made similar levels of progress - but Butcher lost places.

Don't think today has been a particularly great advert for BTCC. Top 5 in all 3 races miles ahead of anyone with the rest of the field all spread out aswell. Not very fun to watch. Clear bmw advantage is a joke aswell. But then toca now have their own way with a bmw driver leading the championship

Good weekend for the BMWs - they needed that after all the restrictions being thrown at them, if TOCA want to equalise everything then it needs to work both ways, getting a little tiring people moaning, especially at the one track they still appear to have an advantage on but it was all ok the years Honda had an advantage at Thruxton.

Interesting to hear Hill complain about Sutton's driving standards today, when you look at the front of his own car in R1....

He seems to be adopting the Jordan role in that team at the moment.

It's a simple risk vs reward decision for WSR in the moment, considering Turkington's title bid.

At the time - he was in position for 15 points. WSR would rather see Hill risk his points than Turkington.

Attempt to pass Butcher - potential gain of 2 points vs potential loss of 15 points.
Let Hill attack Butcher - potential gain of 2 points vs loss of 2 points.

It always amazes me that people trot this out every season, but still return to watch.

Here's how a typical BTCC season pans out:
Early season temperatures and circuits suit FWD. The early championship leaders are in FWD cars.
Then the handicap starts to take effect, the weather gets warmer and we visit Oulton, Croft and Knockhill.
At this point, RWD starts to get the upper hand and people start complaining about favouritism and RWD dominance.
Then we head back south, handicaps start to be felt by RWD cars and the title goes down to the wire.


I'll save you the hassle of watching the start of next season - On the 14th August 2023, RWD cars will have just had three strong rounds and people will complain about their advantage.
