General idiots who don't realise they need to drive with some caution on slippery roads.

A truck go round a roundabout the wrong way. Or the right way if you drive continental style.

Without notice, jump off the pavement and cross the road in front of me while I'm driving.

My wife was lukcy a few years back, she was driving a peugot 605 down a dark back lane having been to muck out her sisters horse with her, As they were coming home and rounding a blind bend she came head to head with a parked JCB on her side of the not far off single track road, with the bucket down, instantly swerving on the wet road to go round was met with an oncoming car, left with the choice of a head on or a JCB she choose the JCB (tough call i have to admit but i think the right one).
she hit the JCB whose bucket cut through the front of the car and engine block, luckily both girls were ok, but the car she avoided the head on with drove merrily past and didn't stop. The police arrived sometime later coming round the same said dark wet blind corner and nearly rammed the already twisted mess of a car. The police tried to prosecute the JCB driver but low and behold he had immergrated that day according to the company who owned the Big yellow car killer. Could have been so much worse, luckily my wife is quite a cautious driver as that road often has lads driving way beyond their cars and their own abilities Last edited by danccooke; 8 Feb 2005 at 11:31. |

Never heard anyone driving a Peugeot 605 be called lucky before , but you're right - a lucky escape from what could've been a very nasty accident. And a good example of where corporate legislation might help when the driver of a company owned vehicle is not identified (or turns out to be conveniently unavailable...)

i appear to have had my fair share of idiots.
On my way back from Donington last year (heading back to south coast pompey) coming down the M1 some old fella in a huge hunk of american junk sat in the middle lane doing 40mph, all the cars on the inside lane are now backed up as they wont (and quite correctly) undertake him, i am stuck behind him with the fast lane nipping by at a steady 85Mph, my car pulls ok but instant acceleration 40 to 85Mph is slightly out of the Toledo's league. after copius use of the head lights and horn, Mr Oblivious in front of me drifts into the inside lane blissfully unaware of the mayhem and the possible carnage he could have caused, times like this we could do away with the overly misused fog lights and replace them with hi power laser beams....sorry drifting again |
