The majority of the field were doing the same thing as Webber, so they must be idiots as well.......

Lewis was up to some very interesting tricks repeatedly brake testing the pack when behind the pace car. Is this legal? It probably caused the Webber crash. Also it was nice to see the Hamilton chop cost him (unfortunately not enough) when he launched into Kubica and Kubica wouldn't yield. It is inevitable that the Hamilton chop will one day lead to a huge crash. As for Kimi, the way he was driving he would have easily won the race had the idiots in the pits not decided to ruin his day with a three stop. We all know that Kimi is amazingly fast, but it is unusual for him to really show his racer side as much as he did in Japan. Making up all those places in those conditions took enormous skill and commitment. Driving round the outside of DC was simply sublime and worth driver of the race on it's own. Supreme mastery by a great driver. I thought Button was very unlucky. Also several of the old lags proved why they shouldn't be in F1 any more. And all the young guns had good drives. Hamilton won by being in front out of the spray in the best car but mainly by having a one stop strategy. Also one gets the feeling that McBiased are not looking after both of their drivers equally. Definitely not a special drive and definitely not worth driver of the day. Even DC was more deserving. |

I'd take either Kimi or Heiki out of the 3 . why ? it is very simple. Hamilton in most cases had a clean view ahead. both other two had not. point. |

Hamilton out front with a clear view...... have many of you guys driven or rode a vehicle at speed in the rain without a roof,it aint much fun and your visor tends to mist/fog up like mad. to say lewis was in any way having a easier time driving in those conditions shows how little some people know about the sport they comment on.

Well it wouldn't have been easy, for sure, but his view would have been clearer.
Doesn't make his drive any less impressive though like some seem to think. For a start he was good enough to get out front. |

Kimi for me. Third place after (Whoever) screwed up on tire choice? Outstanding. Massa looked good too, loved that last lap.

Well a tough one, as a matter of principle I don't vote for non finishers, so while Webber was fantastic, and clearly catching Hamilton (though I do not think he would have passed him) he can't get it, even though I can see why others have voted for him. With the obvious exception Vettel was rather good, but t is also obvious that he didn't finish so can't be considered. Hamilton had the best machine, a clear track and still wasn't the fastest during the trying conditions, so it is impossible to rationally give it to him.
Really it comes to Kimi and Henki, based on Kimi's recovery you could give it to him, but those were self inflected problems (by Ferrari) and he clearly has a better car than Henki, yet Henki drove well and was rational and resisted immense pressure, I think the split is 51/49 his way, so that is my vote |

Yes, he did. There's a full list here.
It's a strange one, because otherwise it doesn't seem to bear much relationship to the results - Kovalainen and Raikkonen were 9th and 8th respectively. I can only think that as the weather conditions did vary a little during the race - from horrible to near impossible - it depended on your situation at the 'best' moments. In traffic, heavy with fuel, or in clean(ish) air) etc. |

Also to win at the slowest pace possible is the mark of an expert.

In one sense they all deserve it due to the conditions, but Hamilton had pole, led start to finish, and survived being punted off.
and, its hard enough driving a road car with the top down and its raining, so driving a F1 must be even harder |
