From the times I'm seeing set at Paul Ricard, it sure looks like they're back to using the full, uninterrupted Mistral Straight, and I'm glad to see it.

Yeah, full straight. Odd qualifying as there was a red flag so the grid isn't fully representative. United Autosports struggled a lot.
Does seem like an Oreca fest still. |

I am. Hate the circuit but the racing has been good so far. Signatech are looking strong for the win. That's my prediction.

Unexpected side effect of the new pit stop rules: Cameraman can't get close enough to see the driver change in detail, as the mechanics need in to change tyres.
Tyres can easily be changed within the fuel time, making strategy far less important. As we all knew. |

What is Jonny Palmer talking about? Safer to repair a barrier under safety car than Code 80? 80km/h is first gear in every car. What could be safer?

Not really sure the SC was needed for this one. FCY would've been good enough. Doesn't appear to be an attempt at fixing the barrier either. Edit: They're going to stick tyres in front of it. Fair enough. |

I've missed the first three hours. No problem though, I'll just rewind the YouTube live stream ...
... which is missing the first hour. I know it's a running joke that ELMS start times are always 1 hour off, but it seems the ACO takes this very seriously Who thought a rolling 2 hour window for a YouTube stream was a good idea? Looks like I'll be watching on replay. |

Isn't that a Youtube limitation? I could be wrong.
The race has been very fun so far, I've watched much more of it than I thought I would. |

I'm sure it isn't. The English (RLM) stream for the N24 qualifying race has been going for almost four hours so far, and I can rewind to the start of the race.

It's a YouTube feature/setting AFAIK. So can be changed by the video owner. It'll be a few hours until the start appears once the video ends too.

Very entertaining race. I love that it's just free on Youtube.
Was that a punt though by the JMW Ferrari? |

If the stewards reverse that then I could see their point, but I'd leave it as is personally. Technically, the Ferrari was alongside but by the time the Porsche recovered, it had a car length ahead. So the Porsche actually came out better by about 2-3 meters, lol. |

To be honest, I feel that the race was a bit less interesting than most of last years'. That shouldn't have been the case considering the increased amount of serious P2 contenders.
I think the pitstops regulation change robbed us from a really entertaining end of the race at the very front of the field. There was no strategy gamble from anyone, because it has become pointless to do so. And then, no one was able to seriously challenge Racing Engineering to overall victory. Shame on you ACO. Shame on you. |

The whole race is on Youtube now.
Were all of the P2s running the joker updates? Just wondering because the first 15 finishers were P2s and the top 7 were Orecas. Fastest Oreca lap - 1:42.540 Fastest Ligier lap - 1:43.135 Fastest Dallara lap - 1:43.743 |

From what I've heard they were all running the updates. Either they didn't work or the teams haven't found out how to properly make use of them yet. Although I think most of the updates concern the low downforce kits used at Le Mans, so maybe it will actually be closer there.
Maybe someone else knows this but did Oreca get an update too? |

Then it does look a bit like Onroak and Dallara dropped the ball...
