Seems like they have confused European F3 Open and F3 Euroseries.

yes this press release is a bit confusing, seems like Solano will test with Team Emillio De Villota in the coming week in Spain

At the end we do not know if they are talking about European F3 or F3 Euroseries you are right Valker.

PREVIEW
The European series to the closure

Italiaracing has learned that the F3 Euro Series could close the gate after the 2010 season. And with the support of DMSB, which will separate from the FFSA, we reform a high-level German national championship.

Who would have thought, it only took one season for GP3 to win the war

that would suck

Germany already has a strong national F3 championship with the ATS

Wait and see how this new GP3 goes, seems like both F3 Euro and GP3 struggle to attract drivers as well as Formula 2...

If GP3 goes as well as Formula Master and Formula 2 in theirs first seasons (many mechanical failures), then drivers will consider to get back in a competitive and reliable car like an F3.

The engine has been develloped by Renault F1,it's not a mader engine just like in GP2.So the engine should be safe. The car is develloped since 1 and a half year. Not like F2 who was develloped 6 months.

There's smth going on with the DTM & rules, I think it's highly likely both events to be connected.
If DTM is strong & it faces no competition whatsoever now, then the supporting F3 series will be kept strong.

I totally agree... plus it seems that the only reason all 30 cars are testing in paul ricard with the gp3 is because of this story of teams getting fines.... otherwise there would probably be missing at least 10 drivers.
Teams probably prefer not charging drivers rather than having to even pay the organisers.... This is really ridiculous in the current financial climate....

Bottas vs. Sims at ART will be interesting, maybe Merhi or Mortara can benefit from it. These four are championship contenders. From the other drivers, I think only Vanthoor can win a race. For the best rookie, it should be between Pla, Juncadella and Da Costa.

My prediction:
1. Bottas
2. Mortara
3. Merhi
4. Sims
5. Vanthoor
6. Wittmann
7. Pla
8. Juncadella
9. Da Costa
10. Munoz

why didn't you put Bottas in your top 3? (just wondering, he's seen as title favorite by many)

I'm not sure how he is efficient.

In 2009 the gap between Sims and Bottas in their Rookie year is a lot smaller than the gap between Vietoris and Bianchi.

Not sure if Vanthoor counts as a rookie because he has already spent two seasons in Formula 3 cars... If he does, he's my rookie favourite.

Vanthoor is not considering as a rookie.. he has already competed in a F3 Ch'ship. For the rookie championship I think it will be a strong fight between Daniel Juncadella (runner-up of Formula BMW Europe) and Antonio Felix da Costa (Formula Renault 2.0)

For the Ch'ship, let's say...need to change something....

13 cars is embarrassing. Good performance by the rookies though. I didn't expect Quaife-Hobbs and Munoz up there!
