Red Bull is forbidden in France.

Theres no confirmation that the Russian backing will be back with Cirtek. So a good guess would be to have the Dubai team linked up with Cirtek. So thats 4 DBR9's in the series (+ that Redbull rumor if true).

Lister wont be back (at least not for the full season). They had previously announced that they will be just supporting their FFSA and Italian GT entries for 2006.

If JMB cant run the MC12s, i bet Peter Kutemann and Dick W. will probably look for someone else to run them. GPC could be a logical choice, but may already have too much on their plate with 2 F430's.

Incorrect. The team is looking at a programme for 2006 for the full FIA season.

well, they did come out with a news story about 2 months ago saying that they will be calling it quits running the Storm in FIA GT.

http://www.the-paddock.net/index.php...=812&Itemid=36

I guess they changed their mind I always liked the Storm GT. With the right upgrades, i think it could compete for podiums in 2006.

Pearce told me in Bahrain that nothing is sure yet, that he thinks the car is still too good to put away. And knowing him that means we'll see it again next year, despite the announcement.

Not much chance I think, Kutemann is the co-owner of JMB so I don't think you'll see his car somewhere else.

BTW, GPC has experience with running more cars (in 2004 they ran 2 575's and one 360, and in selected races 2 360's as well) so that shouldn't be a problem. However, if they would find one I think it would be from a different party.

Good news about the Lister.

yep, Kutemann co-owns JMB. I totally forgot about that factor when thinking of the MC12's.

But still, we should see around 15-17 full time entrants for GT1, which isnt bad.

From the Lister forum ("Moderator" - Is that Fiona Pearce?):

Quote:
Hello Simon - thanks for this - we have plans to update the Storm to upgrade the GT car to the 2005 regulations, i.e. new splitter - should make the car faster. We would love to do FIA next year with a top driver combination - Laurence's strategies are unbeatable after all! Not sure the new breed would want us there upsetting their apple cart!

List updated. It seems that the Red Bull rumour is true; the Austrian Aston importer is supposed to be behind this, and he already has a DBR9 it seems, with a 2nd on order.

GT1:

Aston Martin DBR9
2x BMS Scuderia
2x Cirtek
2x Red Bull Racing

Maserati MC12
2x Vitaphone Racing

Saleen S7R
1x Zakspeed Motorsport
1x Balfe Motorsport
2x Konrad Motorsport

Corvette C6.R
1x GLPK Carsport

Ferrari 550
1x Larbre Competition

Lister Storm
1x Lister Racing

Ferrari 575
1x GPC Giesse

GT2:

Porsche 996 GT3-RSR
2x GruppeM Racing
1x Lammertink Motorsport

Porsche 996 GT3-RS
1x Vonka Racing
1x Proton Competition
1x Ebimotors

Spyker C8 Spyder GT2R
2x Spyker Squadron

Panoz Esperantep
2x Team LNT

Ferrari F430 GT2
2x GPC Giesse
2x Scuderia Ecosse

- No JMB. Team has reasonable financial troubles and participation in 2006 FIAGT is very unlikely as the Red Bull guys won't continue with the MC12 program. That's a big financial hole being created, wich will probably move these cars to the Italian GT championschip. That's why I left it out.
- GPC: Unsure what they'll do, might continue the 575 as they have it anyways, but maybe a MC12 otherwise? Who knows.
- Larbre: Another season with the old bird? They did it as well with the Viper in 2003.

Did I miss the news about LNT running FIAGT this coming year? I thought that it was to be LMES with some British GT for them.

Any chance GLPK will run 2 C6.Rs? I thought they wanted to order two cars?

I think they have very good chances. But there are a lot of other interested teams and GM is very "slow" in its decisions....

I think it could well come down to how much GLPK bid, versus others. I know this might sound contrary to most people's opinions, but I hope another team gets a crack at one of them. GLPK still have their C5-R if they really want to run 2 cars.

It'll be difficult for GLPK to buy and run 2 C6R's from the financial point of view, unless they find another person to step into the project. Maybe David Hart would be interested? He had a lot of fun in the C5R with Goossens in Belcar, but expressed that he wasn't going to race there again without Goossens.

B- Racing from Austria are going to do full LMES und FIA-GT- Series. The Technical service and the logisics is going to be managed by the WTCC- Team RS- Line. The Team has got 3 opportunities for a car: Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari 550 Maranello or Ferrari 430. One of the drivers is said to be an Austrian Pay- Driver, the other one a proffesional driver...

New here

I heared a few rumours that Phoenix, who ran the Opels in the DTM last years, wants to run two C6R's in the FIA GT 2006 championship. Opel doesn't race anymore in DTM next year, so they're looking for something else. I don't think Pratt & Miller will support two teams in the FIA GT, so it's between GLPK Carsport and Phoenix then for the C6R's I think.
