Carter leaves PWC, guess he's off to become Indycar's new race director?

BullMan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Posted this in the GT3 thread too.

The Cadillac ATSVR just broke cover! I think the number box says GT3, but I can't tell. Looks like it might be a PWC GT car though, which would be very disappointing.

It's a GT3-car alright, the question is if Caddy will seek interantional homologation for it...

What's the point in building a GT3 car if you can't get it FIA homologated? I know Ginetta (and someone else) can't do it because they don't have the proper road car, but this isn't the issue for Cadillac.

(This seems to be a non-issue after your last post, but) In theory building a GT3-ish car could be solely an attempt at being more competitive in World Challenge where the GT3-derived cars have had an edge on the WC-rules Caddy for the last few months. By calling it a GT3 they don't have to stick to much in the way of a technical ruleset and it gives them a lot more freedom in designing their car. I'm sure they have enough lobbying power to get it approved for PWC even without official FIA-homologation.

The Caddy did have a gearing advantage though. I know they were swapping gears for every circuit, but GT3 regs limit a car to one gear set.

This is going to be a great series next year. Ticket prices for Road America are good as well. That's the pricing level of club racing. Excellent.

If it's a club, it's a club that includes Butch Leitzinger, Guy Smith, Alex Figge, Johnny O'Connell, Andy Pilgrim, Ryan Dalziel, Nic Jonsson, Nick Tandy, Kuno Wittmer, Anthony Lazzaro, Mike Skeen and a lot of good up and coming drivers like Robert Thorne and Andrew Palmer. Doesn't get much more professional than that!

Plus a lot of freaking awesome GT cars.

Sounds like a great club!!!

He wasn't saying PWC was club level racing, he was just saying it was priced similar to the club events that also take place there.................

I can't believe that actually had to be said.

Given Mr. Putzs posting history, I'm guessing He DID mean it as a slam towards World Challenge.
However, it is nice that the prices will be more affordable for PWC at Road America next year.

Could be read both ways, sounded like an intended slam to me.

If you're right, I'm 100% okay with that. Pirelli World Challenge is a massive bargain at those ticket prices!

This is awesome! An Aston GT3 was one of the few cars missing from the full season entry list this year!

It's not an official announcement, but according to RACER, PWC has found their new race director:

Caddy said 2015 is a development year, and that they will look at customer possibilities for 2016.

It's possible, but not very likely, that GM is looking for customer towards the middle to the end of the 2015 season. I do not think it will happen, but it could..2016 is much more likely, like what Bullman said.

Last night, I got wind of a very probable 2 car GT/GTA program that would run cars with V12 engines...I'll add it to the next tracker post.

Only V12 GT3 is the Aston, right?
