The MSA / Blur Book says entries [inc late entries with fee where appropriate] can only be accepted up until the Tuesday before a meeting....eg would've been this Tues just gone, 4th Sept.

As entries sec for this and ALL BARC SEC meetings I will try and compose a diplomatic response to this, but please understand I am livid at these comments, especially when this has nothing to do with you and only the drivers concerned and the BARC SEC.

These drivers were being turned away as they hadn't completed registration forms and sent them within the due time.

The MSA states that we can't take entries after a certain time. Entries are not complete unless a registration from has also been completed and received and the fee paid. We had issues at another meeting where we let a driver in in good faith and it turned round and caught us out. This is why we are being so strict in this case.

These entries were also recevied at the 11th hour, which I have told everyone time and time again not to do it causes more hassle for the VOLUNTEERS that have to and when things have to be queried in this way does not leave enough time for paperwork to be received and decisions to be made.

Please also be aware that subjecting volunteers to abuse and also trying to manipulate things isn't going to win people any friends in any situation.

Cheza, Has a nerve been touched here ?, where in this thread is anyone 'subjecting volunteers to abuse and also trying to manipulate things isn't going to win people any friends in any situation'.

I for one am just wishing to understand why entries were turned away, you kindly have informed me why and for that I am grateful.

The only problem as martinlabbatts has stated is that all championships need to be trying to grow their memberships and this will and as is my nderstanding has seen these guys go elsewhere and enter another championship, if DMN has enough cars then thats fine.

As a member of the BARC SEC committee I have been privy to all goings on in this situation. I am not at liberty to discuss them here as it is not the time or the place. I suggest that you speak with Martin over this as you seem to be quite good buddies. Also please note Chezza has two Z's.

Yes it has touched a nerve. I am the one that has to deal with all the hassle with late entries and the problems that they cause. I and I have had enough of all of having to do it and also people arguing the toss with us. BARC SEC have the right to refuse entries even if they come in on time. Its just a fact of the matter.

Chezza, For your information I do not know, have never spoken with and would not even know who martinlabbatts is, except from seeing his posts here.

Lets just say that we do not share in our opinions into looking after the customer (in this case the drivers)

Jon...I had had that thought as well and I have to say I don't know what the answer is...apparently we did have about 30 that wanted to come, but we had to restrict it!

well maybe martin you can also tell them to enter on time and send the correct paper work with the correct entry fees in to the correct places like the other 120 odd registered competitors have done.

MSA rules are MSA rules we dont make them up but have to abide by them

It surely can only be that the cars do not run within the regulations, although I find that strange as the class a regulations are very open !!
err how about failing to register correctly for the championship, under MSA rules they cannot race in it under those circumstances, we are open to justabout all comers, the only things we ask are

1 you register and send the fee to the correct address
2 you enter on time

its hardly rocket science

well they did enter on time!

but the club did not contact them to say that they had not completed the championship reg form

after two weeks off hearing nothing they contacted the club to be told that the championship form had not been done

this was then faxed to the number given

e/ mailed and telephone messaged where then not returned

i can understand how it works but the club must tell people if they have not done the right forms and not just sit on it.

turning competeters away in this way does not put the club in a good light.

This doesn't seem to be the kind of thing that should be resolved by a public forum thread.

Martin, if you're worried about presenting the class in a bad light, perhaps you should stop complaining about it on the internet and go down proper channels to register any issues you may have.

If your friends have an issue, then I suggest that they contact the club directly to sort it out - unless they are only able to make themselves understood by having you do so.
