I could be wrong, but I think the rally stage only runs Saturday and Sunday, doesn't it? |

As regards Louise Cook in her Fiesta, it just seems a total oddball in amongst the historics. There must be a reason for it.

Probably the one car I wouldn't bother to watch is the 'not very historic either' Porsche Panamera. Not because I wouldn't want to see it on a stage but just as they are so pug ugly...... Last edited by Mike Bell; 23 Feb 2011 at 17:22. |

Hi again Mike,
Here's information that I received from Andrea at Poppyseed Media. The Live Rally Stage is running Saturday and Sunday as usual. There's no live rally stage on Friday due to the site being open to workers and visitor to the offices. Each session starts with the historic karts demo (which Johnny Herbert is scheduled to take part in on Sunday) before the rally action. The session times are… Session A - Saturday 26th Feb, 11.15am until 12.45pm Session B - Saturday 26th Feb, 2.15pm until 3.45pm Session C - Sunday 27th Feb, 11.15am until 12.45pm Session D - Sunday 27th Feb, 2.15pm until 3.45pm PS. The Porsche Panamera is the Course Car. Last edited by Paulaweybridge; 23 Feb 2011 at 17:38. |

Afternoon everyone,
More info on the show. RACE RETRO 2011 SHOWCASES BEST OF BRITISH ENGINEERING The very best of British motor sport engineering is proudly showing its products and skills at Race Retro, held this weekend (25-27 Feb) at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire. With companies supplying everything from complete engines, through to rollcages and fuel cells, historic motor sport suppliers demonstrate the very best in both traditional and cutting-edge manufacturing skills. Leading engineering business Crosthwaite & Gardiner will be showing its world-class engineering prowess, from complete car and engine builds through to the manufacture of bespoke fastenings for period racing cars. Fully-equipped workshops handling machining, engine rebuilding and assembly have justifiably given the East Sussex company a world-class reputation. Jim Stokes Workshops is also showing its products, which range from complete car restorations to engine rebuilds to regular maintenance of classic cars. The Hampshire company started more than 40 years ago and today counts among its services the manufacture of cylinder heads, blocks and pumps. For Austin Healey lovers, Cape International - which supplies parts, accessories and restoration services for Big Healey enthusiasts - is also on hand. From general repairs to a full-on restoration, the company has everything to keep the legend alive. Also keeping a legend alive - in this case, the BMC A-Series engine - is Swiftune, which has been in business for 46 years. Making Minis as well as any other A-Series-engined cars considerably faster, Swiftune applies the latest in milling machines and engineering techniques to one of the UK's best-loved engines. From blocks and heads through to camshafts and connecting rods, Swiftune has everything to turn the A-Series into a potent fire-breathing powerhouse. TT Workshops is also at Race Retro, with its display of specially-made components, including BMW 327/328 wheel cylinders and BMW 328 Alfin drums. Making a welcome return to Race Retro is David Gathercole Engines, which will be showing a Lola 290 sports racer fitted with a Gathercole FVC engine. Today, the company offers major components for Cosworth FVA and FVC engines and can offer complete rebuild kits. Gathercole engine improvements include a replica Cosworth L block, which features a stronger crankcase area and reduced water jacket size to improve stiffness. Proof that when it comes to historic motor sport, Race Retro's exhibitors demonstrate the very best in engineering techniques - the secret formula for success. Adult ticket prices start from just £20 for Friday and Saturday, £15 for Sunday when booked in advance. Children's tickets are £5 on Friday or Saturday and free on Sunday. Parking is also free throughout. The show is open from 9.30am each day and closes at 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday. To book tickets and for the latest updates, please visit www.raceretro.com |
