Mitchi_S should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I miss the Vipers. So, so much.

Also, the 991 RSR's appear to be pretty much off-pace?

Still don't understand why the Viper was not invited.

Clear separation between turbo and naturally aspirated cars!

I'm sure ACO can still give AM, Porsche, and Corvette some big air restrictor increases to give them more power.

Well, they don't race in GTE anymore, do they?

E: this was towards the Vipers

Not too sure if Porsche's flat 6 has much more to give tbh ...

The Riley developed GTE Viper, now owned by ViperExchange Racing (Ben Keating). They wanted to race with Ben Keating, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Marc Goossens.

The atmospheric pressure of Wednesday night was not low enough to justify 4 seconds better laps of turbocharged engines, as Ford claim to justify this gap.

I think the BoP debate in GTE pro is the nastiest and most personal I have ever seen it get. Worse than the DP/LMP2 squabbles at IMSA in 2014.

Because the Corvette fanboys who drank the koolaid years ago feel like they've been done dirty by the ACO in favor of Ford.... Because, you know, they've never played the game.

They wrote the damn book.

And anytime a Corvette hater gets the chance to use the term "fanboy" in describing the ridiculous nature of BoP, they take it.

I'm no hater...

But, reading some of these comments is hilarious!

I for one don't want to see some orchestrated Ferrari-Ford battle, I want to see a genuine race. Corvette fanboys? Don't forget the Porsche and Aston fanboys, wouldn't want anyone to feel neglected. 😜

I have just watched a very emotional Porsche press conference where Dr. Walliser showed himself to be very, very upset regarding the current BoP. He recognizes the vital role of BoP for GTE racing, but says that the sport does not need this kind of BoP.
Says the car's (911) are perfect and drivers reporting that these are the best 911's they have ever had at Le Mans, and yet they find themselves 3.8 seconds off the pace.

^Yes. Something either went completely sideways with adjustments or there's shenanigans afloat.

Question is, does this push the manufacturers to advocate for a non BOP class? In other words, would they rather get beat on merit by a better car, or complain that BOP caused their loss?

Well I can't speak for the manufacturers, but I know what my answer would be, merit of course. At least they could control their own destiny unhindered by some arbitrary finger on the scale.

Non Bop is not an option for the kind of GTE class that is envisioned by the ACO and the manufacturers....and as you may know, I fiercely advocate for fewer regulations and a lot less BoP than we currently have, but one cannot escape reality.
The issue is that when you use BoP as a political tool, you place many peoples efforts , and even their professional reputations at risk . It shows profound disrespect for the participants, and quite frankly diminishes the sport.

Good point I was just wondering if the manufacturers will ever be sick of the monster they created

I hope so. The quicker this dies off and they can start with a clean sheet the better . There will always be some BoP, but it can never be the predominate factor.
