Dingo should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I know this doesn't relate to V8 Supercars per se, but does anyone know what happened to the two Brock Sierras after he raced them in 1990? Did Andrew Miedecke buy one?

From what I understand, there were at least four, possibly five Sierra that ran in Mobil colours.

001 - Brock's car from 1989. This car was the ex-Rouse Silverstone TT-winner from 1988. Brock ran this car in the ATCC and Oran Park 250 before debuting the brand new Dencar-built Sierra for Sandown and beyond. The car was then passed to Brad Jones and Paul Radisich for the enduros and NZ races. This is probably the car that Miedecke used for the bulk of 1990.

002 - Brad Jones' 1989 ATCC car. Another ex-Rouse car from the 1988 BTCC, but I'm not sure which one (he only ran about 6!) This car was written off by the late Barry Sheene during a test session at Winton after the ATCC round, forcing Brad to miss Oran Park. Not sure if this car was ever ressurected.

003 - This was the new Dencar-built chassis debuted at the 1989 Sandown 500 and the car that sat on pole for that year's 1000. I think this is the car that Brock used all through 1990.

004 - Tony Noske's 1990 car. After Miedecke's car was pulled for a rebuild mid-season, Miedecke ran this car. Unfortunately, his first race in the car was at Mallala where he rolled it after a clash with John Bowe, writing the shell off.

I don't know if any of the damage shells were ever repaired, and I don't think there were any other cars used by the Brock operation at that time (I doubt they would have built another new car for Bathurst 1990 as they were getting rid of them at the end of the year, but if they did, this is the fifth car).

As to there whereabouts now? At the end of 1990, Gerald Kay set up an auction of several automotive-related items including several cars. IIRC, Kay's Commodores were up for sale as were the two 1990 Brockmobiles.

Where they went after this I don't know, but in an issue of Unique cars last year there was an ad for a rolling AU Falcon V8 Supercar shell from Ford, and the car in the background of the picture looked suspiciously like a Brock Sierra...

News floating around that an ex-Lansvale car is now living in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

No word on who owns the car, but apparently it will be adding spice to New Zealand's effervescent Super GT class. The car will apparently be managed by Richard Lester Motorsport.

What annoys me most about the Brock Sierras was that the wholekit and caboodle, 2 cars and every spare they had, was for sale during 1991 for the princely sun of $220,000!!!! For what was probably $700k worth of stuff!!!

Hi All

Here is a pic of the ex Lansvale car:

It was a car built for Lansvale smash repairs in 1999, and was raced in Konicas last year by Star racing? Cams log book number 20013079.

One of the Brock Sierra's was owned by Willie Van Wersch (Benalla)and was last year sold to Peter Champion for his Brock collection in Queensland.

There would be a heap of sierra's lying around somewhere.

GTR, I think that whatever Brock unloaded it for was a good price; given that then Group A formula was in it's dying years (months).

Remember that at the end of, and during 1992, there was a flood of Group A Sierras on the market. A 'Buyer's' market, really...

Another example of Brock (in not-too literal racing terms) stepping out of one dying car back into another.

Still don't know the reason why the 1991 Brock-Perkins relationship was dissolved; as I remember no public statement being released (and plus there was no 10/10th's back then). LP j-u-s-t turned up to Eastern Creek in early 1992 in a red Castrol VL, no explanation given!

Some Aussie Sierras in recent times have disappeared northwards in the direction of the burgeoning Japanese Historic Group A series. Australia is seen as a cheap source of such cars due to the number of them that ran here and that there is no eligible class for them to run at in the majority of the country.

One Mobil 1 Sierra ended up over here in WA, still essentially in the Mobil 1 livery. I vaguely recall Trevor Hine (ex street car driver) owning it.

Mike Steele was the name I associated with the ex-Brock Sierra.

I'm at Queensland Raceway and there is a Les Small built VK Group A running around at the AASA meeting. It's got some phat wheel guards and a 70's era Group C bonnet scoop.

It's a twin of the two cars built by Small for Graeme Bailey, which the Chickadee team used to take to Europe in 1986, and later win Bathurst with.

The car Scott Nicholas has purchased though is the ex-Graeme Hooley car.

I thought the car that they took to Europe stayed over there in Alan Docking's hands before being upgraded to VL bodywork? If it's the same car, when was it brought back?

Sierras , hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I remember Bob Tweedie purchased either one or maybe two Glenn Seton Sierra's , also Steve Ellery first ran a Sierra which i think was also a Seton car and later I think Ellery sold the car on to Kurt Kratzman who ran it in 2 litre.

I havent seen to many other sierra's lying around but i guess they are out there somewhere.

I can't be sure, but I think there used to be an ex-Mobil Sierra and the ANZ Sierra here in NZ. I am too youthful to know much about them, but I remember seeing them - if memory is right - at the last Wellington Street Race

Bad choice of language, but a triplet of the two cars built by Small etc looked even worse language.

There were three cars.

Tweedie owns a PJ Sierra which was a no show at last years Speed on Tweed. Tweedie also used to race a blue ST Sierra purchased from Ellery. Maybe Tweedie has two cars, or the turbo car was the Ellery car restored to its correct configuration. I'm not sure Kratzmann owned it and may have just leased it from whomever owned it at the time.

There is at least one Shell Sierra out there in raceable condition, not retained by DJR. We almost saw it at SoT shame we missed it.

The Ex Seton sierra in Tassie is owned by the Sims brothers (out the back of Burnie some were) and I think may be the ex ellery car(Bob Tweedie had 2 at one stage.
It first ran in Tassie as a 2lt I think but the boys ran it as a Turbo in sports sedans one meeting but had some engine trouble.
Haven't seen it for a few years, I'll ask around at the race meeting this weekend.

The Sims boys ran a wicked turbo escort in Targa and rally Tas a few years ago, Man it was quick!!!!!

So what is the origin of the Team Yeti Honda NSX? Is it the very same shell that WG demolished at the 12hr at Bathurst all those years ago, the very same one winning Targa Tasmania with Greg Crick at the wheel a few weeks later??

It would be nice to see Bob Forbes bring out the GIO Nissan Skyline GT-R for fun sometime!
