Well done to Karl Wendlinger and Jaime Melo, very tough luck for Uwe Alzen and Michael Bartels.
2nd is solid from starting last, though! |

nr 7 Saleen passed Alzen in the the chicane. Freisinger Porsche tried to pass too, but ran into the back of Alzen.
What an idea - to pass the leader on the last lap! |

If Alzen had been thinking though, he wouldn't have put his car in that situation on the final lap, when there was no pressure.

I don't think you can blame Alzen.
He wasn't driving full-speed, as he too was close on fuel - i think. The RML Saleen was faster and was already looking for a gap earlier on... |

Nevertheless they seem quite pleased overall.
Couldn't hear all the interview with Alzen, but I heard this: "Started on the last row, finished second." "Points. Happy." |

Sorry to involved in the end of the talk, but I just watched this outstanding end : I was on the verge to congrat the Saleen team, when Lucas Luhr - pretty embarrased at the mike ten minutes later ! - did that stupid move...
Great job by the JMB team, but Konrad really deserved that one... Quote:

Uwe didnt have brakes for the final 50 laps, his feet were burning in the car, and the tyres were burning up.
the team seems pleased at least. i didnt expect them to win the race, but when Uwe was closing on Karl, i thought they had a chance, and they did.. this has to be so heartbreaking for Uwe... |
