Matt Mladin won both AMA Superbike races at Infineon quite easily with Ben Spies taking second both races. They are now tied at the top of the points table heading to Road America. I guess that makes Mladin the forgotten Aussie, since this thread has not been bombarded with posters from Oz.

Quite a few of us in NZ are keeping an eye on Dominic Jones who is in his second year racing over there and has just got a ride with the NFS team

In his first year he bought a bike and a $800 van and drove all over the place to meetings, doing it all by himself, so it's good to see him get a better ride

Race 2 was a wet race. Spies won, Hacking second, Mladin third. Spies now leads by two points over Mladin.

Gobert was awesome. He had a horrible start, but charged through and had a nice fight with Hacking. Well, until he blew him into the weeds on the last lap. Great ride!

It was Spies and Mladin in Race 1 at Miller Motorsports Park. BUT we finally had two Hondas on the podium in Race 2! Oh wait, Spies still won. Yes, he took the double, no actually it was a triple, as he won the superstock race also. Mladin took a bad highside in Race 2 while leading. The race was red-flagged for what seemed like a while. Well it was long enough for Mladin's crew to fix the bike. He re-mounted, started last, and finished fourth. Gutsty stuff, even though the red flag period seemed overly favorable. Points:

1 Ben Spies American Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 382
2 Mathew Mladin American Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 364
3 Jake Zemke American Honda Honda CBR1000RR 293
4 Miguel Duhamel American Honda Honda CBR1000RR 279
5 Tommy Hayden American Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 274
6 Jason Disalvo Yamaha Yamaha YZF-R1 252
7 Aaron Yates Jordan Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R1000 243
8 Jamie Hacking Kawasaki Kawasaki ZX-10R 235
9 Eric Bostrom Yamaha Yamaha YZF-R1 203
10 Roger Lee Hayden Kawasaki Kawasaki ZX-10R 197

In other news, Aaron Gobert got a win in Formula Xtreme over Josh Hayes. Chaz Davies was right in the action taking his first podium. FX Points:

1 Josh Hayes Erion Honda Honda CBR600RR 211
2 Steve Rapp Attack Kawasaki Kawasaki ZX-6R 177
3 Aaron Gobert Erion Honda Honda CBR600RR 159
4 Larry Pegram Leo Vince Ducati Ducati 749R 130
5 Ben Attard Attack Kawasaki Kawasaki ZX-6R 118
6 Bobby Fong Safety First Suzuki Suzuki GSX-R600 115
7 Chaz Davies Celtic Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 102
8 David Anthony Yamaha YZF-R6 100
9 Ryan Andrews Rockwall Honda Honda CBR600RR 91
10 Cory West Team Hunter Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 91

Jamie Hacking smoked em all in Supersport. Geoff May and Martin Cardenas took second and third. Josh Hayes leads the Supersport points over Roger Lee Hayden and Jamie Hacking.

As mentioned, Ben Spies won the Superstock race. He edged out Ben Bostrom and Aaron Yates. Spies leads the Superstock points over Ben Bostrom, Aaron Yates, and Geoff May.

It's very possible that Neil Hodgson will partner James Ellison for the remainder of the year. He has recently tested the bike. Would love to see him back.
