Terrible news. He looked so happy enjoying himself at Goodwood last week.
RIP Peter. |

I'm still trying to get a grip on this. From what I can gather, this is the chain of events leading up to the fatal accident.
On the second day of the Targa West rally in WA, near the township of Gidgegannup, about 40 kms south west of Perth, Peter Brock while racing towards a left hand corner, Brock apparently lost control of the car caused by gravel thrown up onto the road by other competitors, spun the car into a tree, hitting the drivers side door at some speed. Brock is believed to have been alive for approximately two minutes before losing consciousness. He died doing what he loved. He raced for many years, and I cannot see a more fitting way for him to pass. R.I.P Peter Geoffrey Brock 1945-2006. You will be sorely missed, and never forgotten. |

A great man , A great legend - RIP Brockie - sadly missed by one and all .
Perhaps "Pit straight" at Bathurst could be re-named "Brock straight" in memory . |

I've never seen Crompton get so emotional... That Ch10 report hit it all home hard.

Isn't Skyline called "Brock's Skyline"? I'm sure the wall has it written on it.
I think we'll see a lot of tributes at this year's great race. Maybe they could organise some of the iconic race cars Brock has raced to parade together, forming a 'train' of memory on the mount - it would be a very special lap. |

I must say when I first heard this, I almost stopped in the middle of the road on my bike. This one is harder to take than Steve Irwin I can assure you. I guess the old adage "When it rains, it pours" does hold true. I feel very numb and I am sure all motorsport fans across the world feel the same.

Man, This is terrible news. He was my childhood hero. Still remember the day my dad bought home a HDT Statesman, I thought it was the best thing ever to have something that Brocky created.
Enjoy the great race track in the sky Brocky. You are a real legend. |

Sad news, especially as he's the second Aussie icon to die within a week.

I was fortunate enough to talk to him in the Pits at Goodwood last Sunday, and he was having a ball of a time there.
This has indeed come as an awful shock. RIP Peter, you will be missed by one and all. |

Rest in peace 05. A great man, not only to the motorsport community but an Australian icon. On behalf of the Australian Saloon Car family our sympathy goes to the Brock family. And our prayers are with Mick Hone and his loved ones.
