It looks like the last corner onto the pit strait might be a good one to spectate at . Its pretty obvious that it will make the track faster but how much ? 2or 3 secs I would guess as the old (or last) bus stop added time and was a bit of a joke and meant getting a stuff up the arse if you were allowed to run decent brakes. In a field with a diversity of classes I know this can and does happen in most races but Spa is a fast cicuit and 70 plus cars makes it worse on that important first lap.

After talking to a friend whos just got back from Spa,he says that the outside of Kechup is actually part of the circuit now.I must addmit that I thought it was a spectator car park! I would have thought that the blast down hill would have been widened to make it safer for F1!!!!

Kechup?
I'm near Spa tomorrow for a rally, if I find the time I'll have a look how it looks now. |

Thanks matey.
I have to say from a professional perspective this lot have done well. Considering the winter seasonal working, the progress is very good. Now, the views of La Source are a bit disturbing because its almost as if the old track is now the pit lane exite and the new track on the outside is the racing line. I hope I'm wrong. |

I think it stays like it used to be Peter.
If you look at Tatounet's pictures, the outer concrete wall (with tyres in piccy 2 to 4) moves towards the racing line and the pitwall as we know it now. The white-ish line in the middle is drainage, I guess. All the rest on the outside will become typical "4 wheel report area" for Observers. On the other hand, there were talks a while ago about changing La Source (I stayed on topic ). |

Perhaps the "outer" line is for F1 only. It certainly looks as though the corner has been opened up though.Well done Tatounet

An update, pictures courtesey of Autosport.be
The pitlane is the smaller track on the left, but it is a bit wider than it looks. A bit worrying at the moment are the two solid walls on the right hand side in the run off area. If it stays like that, I hope you will all have darn good brakes. |

tatounet, Eddy V, cool pics.
I don't have anything to add concerning the look of the layout. We didn't have time to explore, so just had a superficial look and a drive of the old track. However I do have a couple of shots demonstrating how much work they are putting in. These are three shots from around the circuit. It looks like a lot of run off areas are getting the F1 treatment. Italo looks like they are ripping up half the valley to accommodate. |
