I'm back and I've got a new redesigned track, from CART. I didn't blindly redesign the track like I did the F1 tracks. I used from the track's website. The track is Monterrey, Mexico. You will notice two colors I used for the redesigning, black for the long circuit; and blue for the newly created (by me) short track. I know that the track cuts through grandstands, but why not demolish those grandstands and move them to the other side of the track? What do you people think?

Yeah, but the changes I came up with are what I would like to see happen. I felt if the track is faster by eliminating slow corners, there may be more passing.

I came up with a new track. I named it after one of the Netherlands' most succesful racing drivers: Arie Luyendijk. Here it is:

Arie Luyendijk. How do you pronounce the dijk bit?
dyik? dijek? Nice track though, with elements of Silverstone, and the Nurburgring i think |

"Luyendijk" is the way Arie's name is spelled originally. He changed his name to "Luyendyk" after he moved to the US, because the Americans couldn't pronounce it either. I tend to use the Dutch version of his name, though, as do most in the Dutch press. Americans (and, I guess, other native English speakers) pronounce the last syllable much like they pronounce 'why'.
One question remains: don't you know Arie Luyendijk? |

No i didn't, but after i posted that, i went to autosport's website, and saw the headline:
Luyendyk withdraws from Indy 500 I assumed that Luyendyk was Luyendijk. I think i'll use the proper spelling though... IRL isn't my thing which is why i haven't heard of him. |

Luyendijk won Indy twice. He still holds the single lap AND four lap qualifying record.

Wow. But he still manged to stuff it into the wall and give himself mild concussion in the process. Still a bit drowsy yesterday so he's pulled out.
Luyendijk. I'll remember that one. |

And what about Jan Lammers, then? 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours winner with Jaguar and current FIA Sportscar World Champion.
As you see, Holland isn't limited to just Jos Verstappen. |

no, Jan Lammers i know, and I always remember him driving the Volvo 850 Estate in the BTCC in 1994 at Brands Hatch, and nearly winning. I loved that car. Also saw him in a F3000 race a few years ago, in 1998 i think it was (Incidentally, Montoya was in the same race. Ricardo Rossett won)

Yeah, I loved him in the Volvo!
I think Lammers has driven just about anything with four wheels. F1, F3000, F3, FNippon, Champ Car/Indy Car, Touring Cars, Sportscars... you name it. |
