I have enjoyed it too. Obviously edited for maximum drama but that's showbusiness!

There's also the Christoph Ulrich one, which is more low key and only one episode.

It hits its target audience almost perfectly. It helps to have a high-profile actor in the leading role of course, but the production crew have done a great job with the behind-the-scenes footage to create a sense of intimacy. I suspect there are some folks at the ACO who wish they had Porsche's media budget (more specifically, their director) for WEC Full Access, which often comes up short despite having more to work with.

Having said that, the Unmasked video does much better in this regard, because drivers are given time to reflect on what happened during the season.

I assume these were the former DTM cars from the early 90s?

Nope, those were homebuilts. Different model as well, though I wonder if Abt/Hohenester got to raid the Audisport parts bin.

yes , for 1995 both got more extreme, with big splinters and bigger rear wings , no 8 and 9

https://www.racingsportscars.com/pho...l?sort=Default

and there was a 3rd self build Audi for 1995 build by Dupre Motorsport

the Honda NSX was works car, build by Thomson in UK and run by Kremer , it also raced at 1994 Le Mans with no 48

Speaking of obscure late-90s Audis: Does anyone know the backstory of Perti Kuismannen's Belcar Audi 80?

https://www.racingsportscars.com/typ...mpetition.html

I've heard that it was based on or maybe built from the IMSA GTO or one of its South African derivatives, but those were all wide-bodies, whereas the Belcar car has those ultra- wide wheelarches, but a quite narrow body otherwise, so I'm not too sure how correct that is.

http://audi-motorsport-blog.blogspot...s4-gto_22.html

From here, it appears it's not based on the 90 IMSA GTO. But the 90 IMSA GTO did go to South Afrtica, rebuild into a new chassis as the S4 GTO. Kuismanen then imported that and ran it until he retired it in 98 - which appears to be when he moved to the Audi 80.

It was only just getting started in those days, you had a lot of other strong series then. It's amazing how much bigger it got after that

Lovely to hear Ian Titchmarsh commentating again. I was disappointed when he left Radio Le Mans.

DRM was a series that hasn't been given much recognition and is sadly mostly forgotten about now
