Just off topic for a minute .....
PWR FAN have you ever thought about combining your posts ....it appears from going through the threads that 90% of the time you post 2 in a row ... nice way of boosting your posts and stature here .... but seriously why not think a little bit longer before hitting the post button and combine your posts. Sorry for wasting everyone elses time reading this ... it just bugs me!!! |

Would it be ironic if Mr Ellery ends up driving for a SuperCheap-sponsored team after all the fun there was around their previous relationship.
It would be a good move for PWR, if they can get a 1/2 decent car under their driver trio.... |

I said a quite a while ago now that there were still things to be worked out regarding franchises. Seems like that is still the case.

The powder room has suggested that Mr Romano wishes to keep his franchise licence slot and operate it with a team... he was at Bathurst with son Paul, enjoying the paddock while not specifically with the JDR garage.
Indeed Mr Perkins is quoted in the press this week that he has yet to finalise a franchise licence slot for his 2nd car (hogwash I am sure )and hasnt contemplated purchasing the Romano Racing unit. Rumour in the press has him linked to leasing/buying the 2nd PMM franchise licence slot.... The pressure is on from the TEGA titans for Mr Romano to sell this franchise licence slot as it has been leased to Perkins for 2 years.. the maximum allowed under the TEGA teams agreement. Of significance however is that a team could operate the Romano Racing franchise licence slot in the name of Romano Racing, regardless of sponsorship, and Mr Romano could keep his franchise licence slot without interference from the Kelvinmonster. For example... if PWR has the funds and equipment to run 3 cars next season, the Romano Racing licence could run the third car... Presuming any of this actually happened |

Seems like that romano franchise has been leased for years and years. Wonder how that investment has paid off for the romanos.
When are they going to get rid of all the L2 franchises? I thought that was supposed to happen? |

Mr Romano sold these L1 franchise licence slots and instead bought a L2 franchise licence slot... at market rates at the time. |

What was the fate of the licences bought back by TEGA? Have they been absorbed and disolved, or are they still sitting there available to a buyer with the right $$$? Is there likely to be such a buyer? We're hearing lots of rumours about people wanting to start teams, or run cars, or get new things off the ground, and there was even a mention months ago that there were several Dev. Series teams looking to step up.... but there has been no announcements on any of these. Are we going to have the same teams competing next year that we currently have, or will someone new get up?
