The three different cars used in Bob Jane colours that year (one 956 for Brock/Perkins at Silverstone 1000km, a different 956 for Brock/Perkins at Le Mans, plus the Bond/Miedecke 962 at Sandown 1000km) were just leased from John Fitzpatrick Racing. They would have been used afterwards for different drivers in different colours, so could have ended up anywhere.

I've heard that there were only two or three GSR Sierras built in the four-year period between 1989 and 1992. One was definitely destroyed at Lakeside by fire. Another one appears to be in Bob Tweedie's hands. If there's a third one, where is it?

Wasnt one of Seton's sierra's turned into the 2lt super tourer that ellerey drove? That car then went to Peter Hills, and then I think David Krause may have had it a one time.....

Was Eggenberger himself originally BMW trained???
Ludwig had a few drives of that wicked 320i tubo S/Sedan, then got to drive the 3rd JPS M3, mainly in the AMSCAR series at Amaroo (I used to enjy watching that as much as the main series!) Whatever hapened to him - or that S/sedan for that matter!!(remember it being for sale a long time ago - about 10yrs???) |

I visited his house once and he has a poster on the wall of the workshop with the entire Brabham BMW F1 Team from 1983 and he is about fifth from the left in the back row from memory, he also has the "Rookie of the Year" trophy from Bathurst 1987, all my motorsport memorabilia pales into insignificance now. I don't recall him having driven the 320. The 318 was the turbo and it was written off at AIR in 1984?? That was followed by the spare shell that was built as a normally aspirated 320 (not the same fire breathing performance by any stretch of the imagination) and I don't know its whereabouts. Ludwig drove with Radisich in an M3 in 1988. |

Hey guys going a bit off current topic. On Nicholson street Brunswick (Melbourne) there’s an automotive workshop between Blyth Street and Brunswick road. Sitting up on a hoist just inside is what looks to be an old Glen Seton EL Falcon, does anyone know anything about this car? I used to drive past it everyday about 18 months ago and when I last saw it was covered in a lot of dust. Is it still there and does it get used at all?

Wow, that's amazing info David, has he had a look at your M3? Amazing how he didn't go further in the motorsport world? From memory there were two 3 series sports sedans, I must admit I didn't know if the 2nd one was naturally aspirated or not, merely presuming... I was only around 12 at the time remember! |

The original 318 SS (which I believe was originally run in Craven Mild colours by Oil Can Harry) was written off in 1983, in the prang casued by Brock's Bob Jane Monza breaking an axle off the line IIRC... the crash also involved the ex-Richards Falcon Sports Sedan.
Also IIRC (think I read it in Barry Naismuth's "Jim Richards" illustrated bio from 1985-ish) the replacement 320 featured an F2 donk. Ludwig Finauer burst onto the scene in 1987, apparently after doing a fair amount of testing at Amaroo, of the cars he spannered on for Frank Gardner... Frank noticed he was getting quicker, and coached him , ultimately slipping him a drive... his fade from the category seemed to coincide with the decline of the M3's competitive life - the original's anyway... |

The Sala car was one of the ex-Longhurst, ex-Paxton, Wolf-built cars.

Longhurst had at least three in 1990. At that years Wanneroo round of the ATCC they ran three B&H cars, the two regulars for Tony and Alan Jones, plus #62 for Neville Crichton.
