Sounds like PMR have at least 1 driver signed for the BTCC

https://twitter.com/UKPMR/status/700385098626179072

I guess its not Cook as he currently is in talks. Its not Hawken as he says his plans are not there yet. Could be Newsham as he has posted this on twitter: https://twitter.com/newshamracing/st...84963872690176

Completely random, but would a Golf be eligible for NGTC regulations? I always thought Amd's was a cracking looking racing car, if not the most aerodynamic.

Anyway, I've heard mutterings that Aron Smith might not be in a Touring Car at all this year, but it wasn't from what I'd call a reliable source. The sort of guy who gets 1 in 20 'facts' correct

Well I also heard Newsham's deal isn't in the BTCC so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Just seen this comment on Shaun Hollamby's Twitter from earlier in the week:

Just need to a finalise our driver/s! 😀

Maybe they have a second car up their sleeves, as they originally planned, and had to give their TBL away to Lines to get rid of the Focus and then secure another one?

No Newsham and no Smith! The last four pages or so of this thread could be rendered completely pointless

I forgot they wanted to expand, perhaps the S3 and an old Eurotech Civic? I really hope we see Jake Hill with them, would be a fantastic addition to the grid.

The conversation was about a photo shoot on their BTCC Audi with Haymarket publishing.

They may well if continued working on the 2nd Audi as it was their original plan to run 2 cars. Providing they have 2 drivers with enough backing I think that could well happen. The biggest issue at the moment seems to be drivers struggling to get the funds for the drives available.

Yeah but how many of these seats are actually empty?

888 are filled, PMR by the sounds of it are as well (and that could be three seats), HARD seem likely to have Gilham along with one extra TBL.

So that leaves AMD, who maybe have two seats, Eurotech, Welch (who I'm 99% sure are sorted) and SOP if they're back.

Welch will be in a Ford Focus from Motorbase

no point for him and his limited budget to develop his own car, rather run a customer car

MG 888 are sorted, PMR are struggling to get drivers with the full budget required, some drivers are close but it will only be 2 cars from what I've heard.

AmD still open but a driver very close, if they get 2nd TBL that seats still open. Welch will be driving for his team in his newly purchased car. The two RAR TBL's look like going 1 to AmD, the other to Team HARD where Gilham would drive if plans go ok! Eurotech still a mystery, but IF SOPR make it, then it will be Derek Palmer Jr driving.

I hope that's true. But Dan does still have the ex Andy Wilmot/Ollie Jackson Proton in the workshop I think. So conceivably he could use that.

It would be great to see him in a competitive car again, he's a quick driver and achieved some decent results in the Proton before the engine development situation. I'd imagine top tens would be fairly regular.

I think Mr Wheels knows that Dan has a new car! And I would assume the other things he says are pretty reliable too.

How much money you need for BTCC season? And is it cheaper from TCR International?

No disrespect to Dave, but it's not a great loss. The end of the press release says to expect further pmr news next week.
