The guy on IMSA Radio, Hurley Haywood, is part of the #58 car right? He said they were penalised for an improper pass around procedure with a S/G + 3 minutes, when in fact their transponder had fallen off! Race control not fully 100% yet...
Chiana, a couple of hours ago the #54 had a 3 or 4 lap lead in PC - now it's down to 1 lap with all the cautions... |

I haven't been able to shake that thought since the opening laps when Bermeister went a few down at the start. Doesn't matter. Barring intra-team accidents, they'll be back on the lead lap by the end.
It reminds me of the adage that you can't win the race on the first lap, but you can lose it. NASCAR has completely thrown that out in search of a better show. This is why I believe any race event run by this organization immediately falls off the list of prestigious endurance events in the world. Buying ALMS didn't bring credibility to Daytona, it ruined the credibility of the purchased aspects. |

Yea the 912 fell behind 6 laps at the start and was back on lead lap before the 6 hour mark.
It sucks,do I like it?no.but I love race cars and racing so I can deal with it,and just hope Imsa isnt dragged all the way to spint cup levels eventhough it's almost there. It isn't all that bad,I could always be a NFL fan obsessed with deflated footballs and all thier stupid rules.lol |

Nice stuff between #31 and #60 just behind the lead DP trio.
Some say that the driver of the #31 will be making an appearance on BBC2 at 8pm tonight. (Sorry, couldn't think of anything appropriate!) |

*sigh* of course, "Nascar" (despite there being no Nascar employees in IMSA) runs the show so it automatically isn't racing. I thought people had dropped that emotional nonsense by now... where was everyone complaining about the time-wasting yellows in ALMS, the non-existent LMP1 competition and pathetic overall car counts without the spec PC\GTC classes? Don Panoz gave up on it, it was dying. Get over it. Drop the rose-tinted spectacles for a change.
As for the LMPC "battle", the #54 lost laps due to a puncture, actually. Nobody is threatening their lead. |

This is still an endurance race, obviously the Porsche's,ferraris, and aston Martin didn't have any endurance this race.all the cars still have to endure to the end,but this race being a 100% competitive competition, maybe not.

Good point.....it's a tough call on who lacks more credibility....the people in the NFL corporate HQ offices in Manhattan or the folks in the Daytona Bch ivory tower. Can there be a "credibility rating" less than zero ?

Larson and McMurrary are very good drivers. NASCAR does have driving talent I got to say that if nothing else. Most of those guys can pilot a sportscar and be competitive.

So who do we think the finishing drivers are going to be for the leaders? #10 must be Jordan Taylor and #5 must be Bourdais, but the Ganassi cars look less clear cut to me: Karam seems to be quickest in #1 but Dixon would be the go-to I assume, and both of those are quicker than Hand so far as far as I can tell. Any ideas for #2? Seems to have had Kanaan in every time I look at the screen.

I'd say Pruett will take the #01 for his experience in handling green-white-chequered scenarios, although I would prefer to see Karam. I would be very surprised if Dixon isn't in the #02 for the finish. |

Hope? I am cheering for the Corvettes myself to take the sweep in Prototype and GTLM. Go #10, #5, #90, #3, and #4! Especially Prototype. But I can stand BMW taking GT, but hells no to Ganassi.
