I'd think that Mücke will drive in the Eastern Europe car. He was a Charouz driver first and only then became an AMR-driver and he is from East Germany.

Jos will be sharing the car with Anthony Davidson and Stuart Hall.

They have nine drivers for three cars but it still to be confirmed which driver will be on which car at Le Mans. Or as the AMR press release says: Quote:

I suspect that now there are 3 British drivers in the squad they'll want them one-per-car.

Autosport says that the line-up will be this (Don't know wich number though):
1# Mucke/Enge/Charouz 2# Turner/Davidson/Verstappen 3# Hall/Primat/Ramos |

Good choices. I could easily see that happening.

I wonder what Davidsons experience in sports car/endurance racing is (other than 2003? LM24 DNF) ? I am only aware of his F1 career.
Anyone know ? |

They are probably the best line ups but i would like to see turner/davidson/hall in one car to have an all british line up.

Shame that, I agree with #1, but I would swap Hall and Davidson around, that way #2 would have three quick guys who know a prototype in together, nothing against Davidson, but as far as I know he hasn't raced a prototype (or anything else for a while).

TBH, I cannot see anything wrong as those teams look now. Charouz/Enge/Mucke are the crew from Charouz last year, then 1 'experienced' crew, and one 'chargers' crew.
Somewhere, in there, is a team that will finish. Well. I'd hate to think they could only realistically aim for 6th or 7th though... |

whoa! A very good line-up in that second car!
2# Turner/Davidson/Verstappen all drivers not hugely experienced in sportscars (like the drivers in the factory Audi's and Pugs) but I expect they will be up with the quickest! |

Think Olivier Quesnel (spelt his name right?), said it was experience. Thats why they went with Brabs.
Ironically same sort of story as to why Geoff Brabham was chosen in the Peugeot squad back in 93' but i'm not sure who he was chosen over then but look how that turned out! Wonder if same thing will happen to David this year... |

On top of that the Astons powerplant is very reliable and the cars are a lot faster then the year old Lola Aston, now Speedy Sebah car. All who enter this race need a portion of luck. I think when luck is on their side,a podium finish could be possible. Nine Diesels may be starting, but my guess is that in the battle at least two will be no challenge for the Aston LMP1's(the "old" R10's) and amongst the other seven, the fight'll be so intense that I think it will take at least two victims who won't finish because of shunts and others that'll surely run into trouble, trowing them back down the order. I too thought that these Lola Aston Martin's wouldn't stand a chance against them diesels, but then I visited the Spa 1000km's and my vision changed. The Astons are fast. I think they could use our support to win them the extra luck they're gonna need... |

I think the Astons will stand a good chance at Le Mans as at Spa they were consistantly going faster through the speed trap at the end of the straight, so that bodes well for Le Mans.
