A bit late I know (I've been very busy!) but the standings have been updated on the TTFRL website.
I tried a few laps round Goodwood earlier, the first time I've driven round there since the last race we had there. So far I'm on 1:17.6, relatively comfortably so I'm hoping to improve that in praccy tomorrow night. Remember kids, the race is tomorrow (Tuesday) at 20:00 GMT (not BST the clocks have gone back an hour if that is going to affect those in continental Europe). |

Perhaps one day they'll find the technology to be able to model Senna in a 49........ BTW Spud - looks like you and me are in roughly the same area of the ballpark - which probably means racing for 3rd or 4th! I need a good solid race after driving very poorly at Bathurst. |

I don't know when I'll know. My brother said last week he didn't mind me racing on his birthday, but things may have changed now, especially as he's got a PC game this morning for his birthday. (Rollercoaster Tycoon 2)

Ok, it looks like the new Logitech drivers are working fine so I hope this time I will not be a DNS!

Well I've just got back from my meeting, and somehow I don't feel much in the mood for this one.
But I'll be there. |

Sorry, folks, GPL keeps crashing. The new device drivers Logitech did not work after all.

Hell, I am very, very disappointed. I just cannot get my steering wheel to work. If I use it offline it crashes occasionally, say once every hour and a half of use, but using it online is impossible. As soon as I click on the green rectangular to start a race the game runs for three of five seconds and crash.
Oddly, it crashes even if I don't touch the wheel. Last edited by Muzza; 9 Nov 2004 at 21:12. |

The replay for Goodwood is now available on the TTFRL website.

There must be some klind of conflict there Muzza. What other devices do you have connected?
Very, very disappointing turn-out tonight guys. Just me, pirenzo, Spud and Gil started the race and both p and Gil suffered computer crashes. Muzza tried valiantly, but didn't get to run and I saw Pete put his head in but leave soon after. So where is everyone? Waiting for next season or running in other leagues? |

Thanks for your sympathy, Ayse. It crashed three times, than I tried to re-install the drivers during qualifying but I ran out of time to join the race.
I don't have any fancy device (like videocap or anything like that). My laptop has a lot of things packed in (it is a HP zd7160, kind of top shelf laptop), and then I have a Targus mouse, a HP 2410 scanner/printer/copier and my infamous Logitech Momo Racing wheel... The troublesome thing is that last Friday I did a clean install (Windows script partially off) and nonetheless it is still crashing. I am back to my office now. Just before leaving home I tried to do another clean install, even more minimal, but I don't hold much hope it will work. I have copies of the XML and DMP error logs, but I can't open them with any software (not even Notepad), so I don't knnow what they say. The "error manifest" generated by Windows reads Server=watson.microsoft.com UI LCID=1033 Flags=1696080 Brand=WINDOWS TitleName=Microsoft Windows DigPidRegPath=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\DigitalProductId ErrorText=A log of this error has been created. HeaderText=The system has recovered from a serious error. Stage2URL= Stage2URL=/dw/bluetwo.asp?BCCode=10000012&BCP1=00000002&BCP2=8001003B&BCP3=00000000&BCP4=00000000&OSVer=5_1_2600&S P=2_0&Product=768_1 DataFiles=C:\DOCUME~1\SALCHI~1.SAL\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5a97.dir00\Mini110804-01.dmp|C:\DOCUME~1\SALCHI~1.SAL\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5a97.dir00\sysdata.xml ErrorSubPath=blue DirectoryDelete=C:\DOCUME~1\SALCHI~1.SAL\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5a97.dir00 Which basically opnly points for the two files I mention above. The error report back to Microsoft directs me to a page about device driver errors - but then... What do I do? Muzza |

Very annoyed.
Pole, and set on race fuel too. Made a stupid mistake and spun after 3 laps, recovered and drove half a lap more, in which time I'd almost caught up with the next guy already, and it just froze on me. Gutted to tell you the truth. Sick and tired now of not scoring for whatever reason. |

I saw you fall off and ran off myself almost in sympathy. I ended up wedged behind an advertising hoarding. Had to virtually do a three-point turn to get going again.....
I sympathise, but what can we do? I can't feel guilty that I have a good connection, even though I know I've won races this season I don't deserve....... |

Well, whatever. I'm lucky I guess to have
a) a very good online connection, and b) the ability to be available to race virtually every race. (I think I've missed no more than 3 races in 2. something seasons, and one of those was a re-run........) Still, there's still 5 races to go and all to play for. There's nothing much between Spud and I and you could still win it easily if you were able to make most of the remaining races. |

I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to racing the BRM at Solitude though - a bit like the waste of Le Mans last year........

Sorry,
Ayse but i came out of the pits 3 times and never got further than St Marys. Got off, so went and raced in another race at Spa and set PB. Solitude may look better in anything compared to Goodwood. Pete |

Shame Pete, we missed you.
Goodwood is a circuit which you grow to like very quickly, once you've got a grasp of how you need to drive it. Like many circuits, it seems really difficult at first, but you can get to drive it reasonably well quite quickly. I suspect you will find Solitude more difficult - particularly in the BRM. |

I must be mad as i am getting to like the BRM even driving it on some fun races. Had a non championship BRM spec race at Silvy not long ago and quite enjoyed it.

The BRM races quite well at Silver. As I recall, I won the season 2 race there in it.......

To be honest though, would we enjoy it in any car? Its a pretty frustrating track isn't it, and at least we're not in the honda... |
