If that's the case, why Toyota didn't collect data from the VLN team where it's performing better compared to Super GT and IMSA?
Having both Lexus car models competing in GT3 is like Ford having both the GT and the Mustang racing in the same class. You need to have one car model in order to save money. |

Just watching Super GT from the weekend,
Mr Colin's suggesting that the spy spots of the LC 500 that were circulating the other week are definitely an GT3 spec car. So the GT3 LC 500 will be announced shortly I assume, in ADDITION to the new confirmed super GT GT500 LC 500 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We'll see. I'm skeptical of that and feel the RC F will stay their GT3 but I wouldn't mind either way!

Do you think it's better for a manufacturer to have the same model for various classes or different models for each? I'm undecided on that, but a lot of OEMs do it Aston have the Vantage in GTE, GT3 and GT4 BMW now use the M6 for both GTE and GT3 Nissan use the GT R for GT500 and GT3 Honda/Acura will use the NSX in GT500 and GT3 in 2017 Porsche, the new GTE is a 911 right same as the GT3? Corvette use the C7 R in GTE and GT3 although they don't actually make the GT3 Ferrari now make the 488 that can convert from GT3 to GTE easily Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Lexus is still developing the RC F at the Nürburgring, but then the other day Mario Farnbacher said that next year Lexus will race "a new model", whatever that means. I guess we'll just see an updated RC F.

Yeah, that "new model" was spoken about before as being a redone RC F, not a different base vehicle. Not that I would mind the LC being a GT3. I'd rather they use it for GTE tbh.

@TF110
Agreed, but Toyota got their hands full on their LMP1 program. |

@Graham Goodwin
Well if Toyota can manage both programs on a shoe-string budget, I'll be impressed. Still, the RC-F's lifespan as a GT3 car will be short-lived in favor of the LC-F. |

So does anyone know what Lexus said about the GT3 when they introduced the new GT500 - is it getting homologated this year?

RC F GT3 looks set to go next year in IMSA http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/13374...r-october-test. FIA performance test already happened, and more tests in the coming months.

The way I read that consecutive sentences say have completed and then will complete the testing and Ladoux in mid-September. But then I've come to expect confusing and contradictory statements from Lexus, add in Gentilozzi and double talk gets even worse.
Is Pruett a Lexus 'factory' guy? Reads like Lexus has placed him at F Performance and Gentilozzi is in charge of the rest of the drivers with the team. |

Alfa Romeo 4C Hill climb With 600 HP. A GT3 version of this could be fantastic.

F1 used to squeeze twice that out of 1.5 litre blocks in the turbo heyday.

30 years ago many Group 5 and B cars developed around 500hp with 1.7 liter turbocharged engines. And engineers have learnt new tricks in that period.

Current Super GT GT500 engines are 2.0l inline 4's that produce nearly 700hp, as well.
