Well they still have time before Le Mans. I see it would be a good idea to use the race as a test session. It has potential for sure

So how do you contemplate the ByKolles testing at Spa?

At least there’s no chance of it happening at LM

I think they couldn't get much information in that weather. They weren't slow in the rain, but when the track dry up they were 4 to 5 seconds slower than the Rebellion or SMP.
If i'm not wront they said that there will be a new tube for Le Mans with a different engine union. |

It looks good, but it's a DPi on extreme, below that shape it looks seems a Prototype, not a GT.
From Toyota, they said "with all the respect" that they are not interested in racing against ByKolles or small private teams. If no other manufacturer joins in, Toyota will leave. What defines a "Hypercar"? It have to be hybrid? It have to look futurist? It must remind a production car? It have to be a cheaper LMP1-hybrid? |

Well it’s a nice looking car, but will it work, that and the GTs
Toyota will probably want more competition, as they would rather beat manufacturers than privateers. If they go the series is doomed The organisers are riding a lot on the Hypercar future. They should be pushing for manufacturers to come in |

Apart from bad Karma, that Enso has the pace of the LMP2s, no better.

The quotes are basically what I was expecting. The race was a glorified test session for the car. It has a new engine, new electronics, new suspension geometry etc. They were always going to be on the back foot, but at least they got some running and the engine didn't fail plus they didn't catch fire!

Being the only non-Oreca/Dallara/Onroak/Toyota left on the LMP grid, you ought to look different

I been asking myself "why I like and follow this team that almost can't finish any race"?
I think it's because this is maybe the only old-school prototype. Because since that chassis is on P1 class, it have had different aero, different gearbox, different steering wheel, and three different engines. On the other side, this team with his small budget have tried to improve. It's a kind of David vs Goliath story. |

It is the only 'exotic weird car' left in the entire world of ACO racing, that's why. In the past we had Domes and Paganis and Normas and Pilbeams and Panoz and Epsilon Euskaldis and whatever else strange popping up regularly, but for the past few years since the introduction of spec enforcing and balance of performance, there's not been much non-stock in offer. And now there is only CLM, smoking in the corner even if introducing new parts to every other race

I agree with them being under dogs and that's why we love them, but I think we have to be careful thinking that it's the only old-school prototype. We're getting into rose tinted classes. (like that? classes? Like LMPs? Come on, that's comedy gold)
For sure the Rebellion is based on the Oreca 07, which was based off of previous generation ones etc. But that's been the norm for sportscar racing for decades. The Porsche 962 was certainly a true prototype, but it was also a pretty spec customer car that had roots elsewhere. Then you had the Dauer version of it, which you could argue that's what the R13 is - special version of a customer car. I do agree the ByKolles is the one exotic left. But I dont think this is the 'norm' in modern sportscar racing. We're at the end of a regulation set, and that's when numbers and variety are at their lowest. Only 3 years or so ago we had much better variety. |
