Saint Saturnin was already very crowded last year! Can't imagine how busy it will get now Tom K. is the patron! Might give it a miss this year and visit the pistonheads meet instead. Bummer.

Same here, last year I did both and arrived at PHmeet by the time it was finished. It can be done but as you say it gets more crowded every year, and not only at the meetings, also getting there becomes more difficult. Last year I got stuck in traffic for almost 2 hours.

Dome's inability to produce even one car suitable for competition within years timeframe suggests NO both from their side as well as from customers looking for chassis options.

I have ordered a new motorcar (to arrive 12 Feb) from a manufacturer (and indeed, sub-brand) who have recently made a high profile announcement of their attendance at LM.
I think this is the first time I have owned a car of a marque whilst it has competed at LM. I must get some branded teamwear to complete The Look. |

They aren't going to do sub-3.20's on that.

la luge, oddly enough (sledging is the slightly clunky "pratiquer la luge" iirc? locals, is there a quicker way of saying it?) (vingt-quatre heures du luge... has quite a nice ring to it )
quite liked the suggestion that they should do a trophee andros race there |

If this can be done at Nordschleife then surely something is possible for Sarthe as well http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=143386
Now that would be a true winter championship |

I owned a toyota through '11 and '12. But it had no effect on the myriad of teams whose crap I've readily bought every year.

It's better than the WEC-photoshops, but still pretty meh compared to past. And just to prove that you can still do GREAT posters today, Sebring+PLM ones are still fabulous to this day. The most recent one with ESM HPD on front is a beauty.
But at least on this one there's no annoying kid faces and concert ads or whatever like few years ago. |

I think if you're looking for a nice piece of art then a Le Mans poster isn't it.
When was the last truly great one? I've got 1968 on my wall but there aren't many others I'd want. |

1982 (may have been 1983, but why split hairs?) with a 962 cresting the hill under Dunlop with a big Gitanes logo was very good and adorned my wall for quite a few years - and may well reappear at some stage.

i agree the posters have not been good for many years, i think the pressure from sponsors to include their cars/logo's has had to much influence

That's the one.
And while we're splitting hairs obviously that would be a 956 rather than 962 - my bad. Seeing it now kinda makes me want to take a trip to the frame shop and get it properly done for the wall - does require a mild negotiation with OH though! What is noteworthy, and apologies for going over ground I've been on before, is that the Le Mans "24" logo had a lot of longevity to it, and associated recognition - stepping away from it doesn't feel like the best idea. Ho hum. |

I don't like to admit it, but I didn't miss it, even though I though I would. The logo just isn't that iconic that it can steal away from, or add to, the Le Mans experience. |

I miss it. I've grown accustomed to the new one, but it's not a patch on the predecessor, IMO.
