too bad The #85 Spyker Squadron b.v., Spyker C8 Laviolette of Dumbreck, Kelleners and Vasiliev which has been in the box since shortly after 6pm due to an engine oil leak, officially retired at 6:34pm due to engine failure.

Fireworks from Montagny in the #9 Peugeot now, 3:20.6, he'll be on the lead Audi soon

AND he follows it up with a 3:20.8! just 17 seconds behind the #2 Audi now

EDIT: Villeneuve with another slow driver swap, lost 25 seconds of their 35 second lead

Any thoughts that Penske would run with the P1's here......clearly is a dream.

The 2 Spyders whilst maybe not at what could be a Penske pace, aren't probably much behind and see how many laps down on the leading P1's they are already.

Short of major drop outs, a P2 isn't going to win outright, no matter if it's Penske or anyone else.

Very crudely, I've calculated that if they hit 100 laps by the top of the hour, which will be 6 hours covered so far, if they keep this pace, they should hit or get near 400 laps by the end. Oh boy these cars are fast.

Anyone that said the RS Spyders would run with the P1's was most probably using that argument to try and justify the lop-sided diesel rules (for P1's).
Porsche themselves have always said that the diffrence in lap times at Le Mans between the Spyders and the diesels would be around 16 seconds/lap.

Is it just me or is the #2 Audi not getting the fuel mileage it use to? Or has Peugeot decided to start running an extra lap?

I'm sure I saw the #2 Audi pit in sequence with the Peugeots at least 3 times recently

3:19.394 for Lamy, that #8 Peugeot is by far the quickest of the top cars. Shame that it's five laps down.
