Is'nt that an ex Seton FTR car?
And here's one of Longhurst's old AU's. Complete with 99 spec front splitter. http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=7036 |

I believe the Seiders team purchased it as a spare chassis.
The Lohghurst car for sale...is it the ex Heath car or the ex BJR machine? |

I think I had it mixed up the first 'Chance Of A Lifetime' car was a GSR EL? Speaking of GSR cars, where are the 93 and 97 championship winning cars now? |

I think there may have been 2. One was owned by Charles Ryman, who had Wayne Park drive it for a few meets & showed some great speed in it. Ryman himself ran a few rounds in it - let's just say he made Thexton look competitive...
He wrote it of at a test session at Lakeside (spun at the kink, backed into the emankment on the right IIRC). There's a very interesting side bar to that story as to what alleged cause of that accident (according to the owner). It was during the time of the tyre wars when Dunlop, Bridgestone & Yokohama were all involved & Yokohama had a 'privateer' spec tyre. Thankfully common sense prevailed... you guys can pm me if you want the full story... Anyway, he then bought Claude Giorgi's ex GSR car, which then went south. Could this be the Smith car? I also seem to recall an EL in FPR colours? Seton in an AU & Cromley in an EL? Anyone else recall that? Perhaps there were 3.... |

There is a GSR EL in sydney that was run in the touring car challenge when it first started. I have a feeling that this was Setons championship winning car.

#1 was written off by Seton pretty early on..in '92/93. #2 then went to Claude Giorgio and was then written off by Charles Ryman. #3 was written off in a testing crash...may have been Drew Price at the wheel?. #4 went to Vince Hislop in Tassie and was last seen in Victoraia owned by a guy called David (?) Bruce. #5 was the one run by John Sidney for Max Dumnesy and was then used by Toll Racing. Dunno where that shell is now. #6 was acquired by Charles Ryman to replace #2, then went to the Seiders team and is the one now run by Rod Smith in sports sedan trim. #7 is the '97 champoinship winner. It went to Simon Emerzidis, then onto Chance of A Lifetime. Don't know where this is now. #8 was the last EL and driven by Crompton....it was bought by Terry Steer and run by Dean Canto for a while but was then crashed at Lakeside by Aaron McGill. I think this is the car restored by Andy Cantrell and run in the TCC a few years ago. Over to you! |

Jones took over Seton's car, whilst Seton drove the brand new and relatively unsorted #4, as Jones needed a good result to lock up 2nd in the championship. |

Would they have been racing at Calder back in March? There were 2 Falcons there that looked like ex-GSR cars. From memory both were running carby engines, and one a Chev!

Does Bob Gill still have any pre AU GSR Falcons? He's bought a few of Seto's old cars.

I thinkGill has the ex GSR AU #9 (FPR#1), crashed at Phillip Island by Glenn Seton.
There were 3 other AUs built...one is now the Youlden "BA" ride car, one is run by John Vergotis in the TCC and the last one, "Silver Streak", is run by Aaron McGill in HPM colours in the Fujitsu series. |

Bob Gill has a Ford V8 6000cc carby fed and in standard position ex GSR AU. His car has around 630+ hp.
Bob was selling off a fair bit of ex-supercar stuff last year, mainly spares not cars though Rod Smith has converted it to fuel injected Chev 6 litre power. Smith's car also had modifications elsewhere I think including weight. This is the drivers profile... http://vmrc.alphalink.com.au/control...rs/smithr.html |

This is all interesting stuff and believe me, will be very important documentation for the future.
Can we change the post to include V8 Supercars - but limit it to cars that have run Konica/Fujitsu? So, Thread heading: Group C/Group A/Group Tony - where are they now? |

Does anyone have any info on it particularly before and after Storah ( or at any time really) Thanks |

Ok the V8 years EB/VP to EL/VS where are they now.
93 Championship winner: GSR EB Falcon ?? 93 Bathurst Winner: Perkins VP Commodore. Tim Rouse’s car in the TCC?? 94 Championship winner: Gibson VP Commodore. Owned by Peter Champion and still in 95 VR spec. 94 Bathurst winner: DJR EB Falcon. Written off at Phillip Island 1996 by Bowe. 95 Championship winner: DJR EF Falcon. Was the 94 Bathurst winner and converted to EF spec. Written off at Phillip Island 96. 95 Bathurst Winner: Perkins VR Commodore recently restored to 95 spec and livery then sold. Owner?? (Was owned by a pro golfer once) 96 Championship winner: HRT VR Commodore. Now a bare roll cage out the back of HRT’s workshops. 96 Bathurst winner: Same car as above. 97 Championship winner: GSR EL Falcon. Rod Smith?? ‘Chance of a life time’?? 97 Bathurst Winner: Perkins VS Commodore. Recently restored to 97 spec and livery then sold. Owner?? 98 Championship winner: HRT VS Commodore (before upgrade to VT) same car as the 96 car?? Or the one written off by Morris at Oran Park in 2000?? 98 Bathurst winner: SBR EL Falcon. Sold to Greg Crick then to Craig Harris who has now restored it ti 98 spec. Feel free to correct me. |
