Bentley have confirmed a new GT3 model for 2018. So likely to be a test and or test race campaign late in 2017 ahead of open sales for 2018.
Will be a new Continental GT, however styling cues couldn't be used from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

According to MFi magazine,
Detailed technical regulations doesn't exist in FIA-GT3. There is a GT3 guideline by GT committee (only 5 pages). Therefore GT3 constructor submits technical proposal to GT committee and requests the ruling. |

There are 3 criterias to make competitive power balance in FIA-GT3.
It's requested that the performance of 3 following is in the standard value. Performance window 1 (Acceleration performance): x: Average output/y: Car weight (60 km/h to 250 km/h) Performance window 2 (Maximum speed performance): x: Max output/y: Drag (in 250 km/h) Performance window 3 (Aerodynamics performance): x: Downforce/y: Aerodynamics efficiency (in 250 km/h) |

The set-out of suspension arrangement is free. The Lexus is not the first FIA homologated car to significantly alter its suspension geometry: the Reiter Camaro for instance, has inboard suspension front (mounted to the chassis rails) and rear (within a new rear subframe) that isn't connected to the stock turrets.
The BMW M6 GT3 also doesn't retain the original front turrets to mount the suspension - it has a GT3 specific upper sub frame which ties back to the fire wall. It is part of a design that allows the entire front section of the car to break away for maintenance (the chassis rails forward of the firewall actually have a joint in them for this purpose): |

Well, GT3s have never really been production based. That's why they're so popular. They are essentially mini prototypes, that have to look like a road car, but that's about it. Most of the GT3 cars wouldn't be possible if they had to be road car based. The Bentley for example, the entire front end is scaled up to keep the proportions of the nose the same, so they didn't have to add big vulgar arches to the shape - they just widened the whole thing.
It's a great concept, but does require BoP to actually work, since everything is just performance boxes. That's why SRO has tried to keep factory entries out. |

That's a tired old argument I haven't seen in a while. All of the Corvette race cars retain the stock frame, there just isn't much stock frame to start with compared to most other cars.
The rear hoop and windshield frame are reattached after the roll cage is put in, since those are modular pieces for different production body styles. |

The Nismo press release this morning states a new GT-R GT3 planned for 2018, with Masataka Yanagida and Michael Krumm outlined as development drivers with tests in both Japan and Europe
