My apologies for a stupid question, but how did the no 2 Audi manage to lap both of the Toyotas? Were Toyota screwed by a safety car or was it just pure difference in pace?

Looks like an Audi is pitting. Can't tell which one.
Edit: Audi #1 |

GA = NASCAR. That's the way they do it. Create false competition by bunching up the field. If the NASCAR races run too long without a caution due to a shunt or debris (plastic bag), they will throw in a "competition caution". Also, this keeps the sponsors happy for a while. Keeps their cars in the camera lens at least for a few laps.

Hopefully all these brake changes will put the Vettes and Ferrari's back on lead lap in GTE.
Do the Ferrari's need brake change? One of the Vette's already did its brake change! So it can only gain time. |

Is there a maximum thickness by rule for GTE brake pads? Or is it just a maximum usable thickness that mandates a pad change during the race?

Obviously catering to the Grand Am crowd. I can assure you that the ALMS fans don't see it this way.

Stratos GP banged in backwards exit of Porsche Some average spin offs by average drivers Toyota on P2&P3 behind the #2 Audi and it's pretty much a tactical race now. We will see what's what in the next hours... That's pretty much all. And as you can see now, some 40 minutes for repairs scheduled. |

If Toyota can hang on and wait to pit until after the Safety Car, they'll probably save themselves 30 seconds or so.

safety car will come in and track will remain yellow - everyone should catch up to the group within that lap - lots of tire changes will mix everything up

So safety car stays out until it stops? Or until everyone is on wets?
