Love that Laguna race, everyone goes on about GT, but the lead battle was crazy too, another lap of that and it would have been the same!

Still think bergmeister was a ****** for what he did, probably 100k of damage, yes Jan was an arse, but he would have been demoted for the shove anyway.

Another thing, how good was the tv direction, no endless paddock shots, brilliant use of team comms, ability for the director to show the best battles aswell as the lead, where did these great directors go.

Re the 'M1' I think we might be on the same page. I mean its nice, but why spoil a classic. And the sound of the original high revving M88 in-line 6 is one of lifes' aural joys.

Those beemers engine do sound and bark. I remember racing a Z3 with a Randlinger engine at Jarama for an endurance, at the end of the weekend I was half deaf but happy! And for people of our generation, another BM inimitable voice: M3! The admission sounds like nothing else.
