Whenever the N24 comes around I always have to remind myself to reset my expectations on what is considered 'normal'. It's such an odd event.

Manthey looking strong. WRT are slowly moving forward. The Aston is doing well too. The 705 is now 8th. It owes us a stop, but still!

According to the timing, there's currently no slow zones or code 60s on track. I find that hard to believe!

This is the oddest race of the Year by far which makes it that much more appealing. Safety Vehicles dragging cars down the track along with work trucks moving off the racing line while cars go past. Not to mention the The Green Hell "residents" trackside. I really want to go one day have a few good lagers and some Wienerschnitzel.

Apparently we were clean for about 2 minutes (so 1/4 of a lap lol). Now we have 1 SZ and 2 C60.

Now I THINK you can have service vehicles moving on track a single waved yellow or white flat here which doesn't require a slow zone.

The big truck on the way down the hill was a replay from earlier though. (just had an onboard of that parked up repairing barriers at Wipperman think).

Back to checking the weather, depending on where you look, in the wee hours of the morning is when the chance of rain starts and won't go away until Monday. Looking at the track in the surroundings itself, it looks very dry so any quick downpour will run straight off.

Always interesting the weather and this race.

I'm certain the lead Mercedes overtook a backmarker under single waved yellow. After that it's questionable due to cars moving to pit lane under double waved yellow. I'd be surprised if the 47 doesn't get a penalty.

Last year the coverage from about 10pm local onwards was about 99% onboards.

This is always a bummer about this race but it's understood.

Think we get some pitlane coverage and a front stretch camera, too, but 99%...

Yeah fair enough. Lots of pitlane, and lots of onboards. But major improvements compared to what we used to have 5ish(?) years ago. The event became very accessible with lots of great quality HD streams and even RLM commentary. Still a race unlike any other. Highly enjoyable battles so far
