We were watching the number 4 Mercedes on board for a while and then suddenly see people blowing past him under the code 60. Not sure who's at fault but that was quite awkward.
Edit. Looks like Christodoulou got snookered by timing. |

That's the biggest crash I've seen here for several years. Absolutely massive.

There was a puncture, but that's not the key point when Dries clipped the Cayman.
That gap was too small, and closing. |

I'm not normally one to complain about commentators, but it's pretty bloody obvious what happened. Contact caused the puncture (and the small trip to the grass), and then the tyre let go a couple of seconds later and turned the car into the barrier. There's nothing to debate or question on that one.

"There was damage to the right rear"
Jesus, Sherlock. Did Watson assist on that one? |

These commentators need to just comment on whats on the screen. Dries is a lucky lucky boy, just before he got to the barrier the rear started to lift off the ground. Also I hate to imagine the scene if the Cayman had been another foot or two to the left.

Normally these guys are absolutely on the ball. That conversation was just bizarre. We'd had 10 replays of it and there was a debate going on with what was going on.
"That right rear tyre was already deflated". They've also missed the sudden explosion of bodywork as it comes apart. |

Looking at that onboard, the 8 nearly did a pre-2011 prototype roll after hitting the armco. It rotated about 25 or 30 degrees and then sat down again.

1000-odd kilometres in six hours and six minutes. Not bad. Just a bit slower than WEC pace. Just shows how fast the track is that GT3 cars are covering that distance despite the Code 60s, etc.

705 SCG broken into the top 10, only 4 minutes off the lead. Loving it!
Who'd have thought the lead Audi would only be 8th? |

Went away for a little bit it's all the comments here and went back to watch the incident. That's about as scary as a place you can have an accident here. Glad the drivers okay.

These tire manufacturers must love the minimum pit stop time "ahhh we've got 3 minutes, we might as well chuck a set of tyres at it"
