A couple of car park spots from the weekend - there wasn't a classic car show, they were just being given a run.

A Frazer Nash BMW 328. The car that kick started AFN Porsche. There was an original 328 at Pistons and Props but the owners insisted on sitting in front of it so I couldn't get a decent shot.

Not so much the rarity of the car - but the condition this car is in.
It has been like this for over a year now, and is still used as a daily driver. |

It's got a V8 which might work well in a decent car.

So much action on the big wheel Crown Vic! I'll have to snag a pic of another big wheeler I see all the time. It's better!!

Made the soft left up the hill. Turning radius? I didn't get a good look at the wheel well. Ha! Someone likes it and the style is not unique. |

Think E.B got it right, must be a 122S (and not a single carb' 121). If it were a 123 GT, probably we could see the ridiculous little tachometer sitting onthe top of the dash. I thoroughly enjoyed my modified 2 door 122 S and waited several years before finding her a new home. Back in the day, I remember two communities offering spontaneously mutual aid on the road, Amazon and Panhard 24 CT drivers. Later came RO 80 owners for obvious reasons. Happy days.

When I initially looked at the photo and before I saw Chris' response, I immediately said in my mind "It's a Volvo"; I don't claim to having known the model or anything else about it, but it triggered a long lost memory.
I find it almost impossible to distinguish modern cars, and by that I probably mean anything created since the 80s and certainly not anything from this century! Yet, as long as I've had enough coffee in the morning, these older European cars almost immediately trigger a memory from the dim and distant past. Is it purely because car manufacturers back then didn't each copy the shape, etc. of the competition? I often sit behind cars nowadays, and unless they have the manufacturers' name on the back, I have no clue whose it is. Yet something from 60 odd years ago, no problem; instant recognition! |

99% agreed, Mike. Don't forget inspiration like Volvo PV/Peugeot 203, Volvo Amazon/Peugeot 403 et al and many Farina's creations (Flaminia/404). I remember during a Classic Maroc Rallye one bloke crossing this wonderful country driving a Ferrari 250 GT/E being praised by locals persuaded to watch a Peugeot Coupé.
