AVESCO was informed by a person at Woomera that the test was taking place and the official went up there.

Maybe AVESCO sprung for a plane funded by JFA's fines?

Avesco were informed on Friday. The person drove and was there early Saturday morning, took pics and confronted the team and went back to Mallala.

Maybe the official, with his low pay, spared a few lazy hundreds for a rental chopper?
Even scarier than that, reading more into the report on the V8 Site, they had specialised sensors, which could lead that they have definitely done this before. Hopefully not. Last edited by Senna05; 1 Sep 2004 at 04:10. |

I wonder if they will even bother going to Sandown, surely in a case such as this there entry is being with held and such untill the matter is sorted.

Strange , no mention of this on the teams web site, surely this is an oversight, or it never happened in the first place.
Simon and Dale have always been very forthcoming with info when incorrect and I am sure the teams PR depatment are equally diligent in this area |

Didn't BANO1T's original post say that he was the person who rang and potted them after he saw them and then met the gestapo later in the morning when they arrived or have I misread this whole thing and TD were there for 2 days not just one. But then I guess there are 12 hours in a morning aren't there!

here you go page 6. posts by BANO1T;
Well as I was the person who tipped them off.........they really stuffed up, wouldn't admit anything but they were willing to show us over the car and transporter........very hard to hide obvious sensors on the guards! Cracked 270kph down the strip btw (well that's what Simon told me anyway) After being questioned by rdmdog about an earlier tipoff: Nope.........all me mate, I met said offical in the morning after he had driven up. __________________ |

I thought there was actually a restructure in the PR/sponsor area of this team recently
I am still interested in understanding the relationship between Team Dynamik & IMS... the report in AA mentions that Mr Imrie's deal with Dynamik was concluded at the end of the Oran Park meeting. Now that might have been the intention, but is it what happened according to the paperwork trail. This vehicle (#14 Goldie) was entered at Queensland Raceway, Winton and Oran Park under the L2 franchise licence slot of Imrie Motor Sport. That IMS is the entrant, and that the registered keeper of Goldie is Team Dynamik, must have meant a lease arrangement happened between Dynamik and IMS for use of Goldie in that position at these race meetings. The $64 question remains... did the lease of Goldie cease at the conclusion of Oran Park, or instead does it only cease once the Smiths Trucks car is leased from Robert Smith to run in the IMS franchise licence slot for the balance of the year, from Sandown onwards. I wouldnt consider the answer shared in AA by Mr Imrie to be the collective conclusion of the paperwork shuffle. Yes Kelvin has pointed the divining rod clearly at Dynamik.. but unfortunately history suggests that previous attempts to "prosecute" without the full view of the facts have proved pointless... so why should this be different?? Meantime, with CAMS wandering along its path of enlightenment in rejigging the judicial processes of its major customer, is there really any point holding an inquiry which may ultimately be found to have reached invalid conclusions??? |

Having read numerous similar releases regarding HMS conspiracy theory from the same source (waves at Kelvin!), I will wait till Sandown to know whether they are "gone" or not...

If TD are gone now i think they will be reserected under new ownership before Jan. 1. There is an interested party out there with many dollars behind him who may end up with the team.

If they are deemed to be in the wrong then I would agree a penalty as specified by the appropiate rule should be applied, but the way some of you are carring on, you think they should be lined up and shot! I can;t see this being any worse than actually using an illegial car during a race.

I have no doubt that BAN01T had some communication with the powers at be on the day, however, this was not the first they had been told of the event.

It's GAME OVER for Team Dynamik unless TEGA and Avesco let them off with just the $250K fine plus the loss of all points, which I don't see happening by TEGA and Avesco. Quote:

Should they be found guilty as seems likely then I think a massive fine and loss of points is the minimum they should cop. If possible I would look at excluding the team from running at Bathurst as really a point loss means nothing to them as they aren't championship contenders. I guess that might set off a string of legal challenges but if they are dead in the water I doubt there is much that can be achieved by them to counter it. I just think it would be shocking if a team could do what they are alleged to have done in the lead up to Bathurst and then possibly pinch the race or get some glory in the shootout etc. Send a real deterrent message that teams and sponsors would appreciate - no Bathurst.

Just out of curiousity, would there be an issue with TD being kicked out of the championship, especially when it came to how many cars fronted up for the remaining races this year? Is there a stipulation in any promoter's contract that says 35 cars have to show up or fines will kick in?

Interesting to see in the release dated yesterday that one of the points was that the team was using illegal sensors. Is it a problem to use illegal sensors on a test day? If I go and have a normal test day on a regular circuit, will there be a technical inspector or scruitineer present to check for illegal sensors? Just wondering because I had a driver admit to me a couple of years ago that they do some things outside the square on test days...
Dingo, re-fields. Is the regulation these days that level 2 entries have to rock up to 80% of rounds, or has that been changed? If hypothetically, the lot of level two entries didn't go to one particular meeting there would be a few less than 35 cars on the grid! |

If CAMS or whoever did not take any action against TD, I'll bet they would be called whimps for not caning TD! If cheats get caught, does it matter how it happens? Does anyone know if TD have released a statement about this? Last edited by Trevor P; 2 Sep 2004 at 01:40. |
