I have just deposited my deposit for next year. Over on the Tuesday Dover-Calais, camping in Houx - great scenes! Very happy to part with money when it is for Le Mans.

Still to work out what I'm doing next year, I might be going to another motor race as sacrilegious as it sounds!

In an ideal world, I'd go to all the races in as many countries as I could fit into 56 weeks... as much as I loved my time at Le Mans, I'm fairly certain I'll be missing the great race next year so I can afford a trip to the Indy 500. I'll almost certianly make my way to the WEC race at Silverstone though (please announce the date ACO...)!

There is just THAT much racing, I have to create new weeks to fit it all in.
I wish you could edit typos. |

Something that was running through my head after the horrible events of last weekend is whether the likes of Dario Franchitti will remain in the series next year. Would be ironic if he ended up at Le Mans! |

What is the general feeling about ticket prices for the 24H? I find them to be increasing a bit more than expected. In the last 5 years it has increase almost 10e.

I went to the Classic last year with my MG Bandit. I was invited by my mates from the UK who were with the MG Club (traveldestinations was the agency). Despite being unemployed and naturally cautious about my spending, I found the pricing to be fair. I think the ambiance at the camping site was 5*, although the beer at happy hour could have been better (Kronnie was what was served). If you go, definitely check with car clubs attending. |

A weekend ticket at LM is very reasonable IMO. A 10e increase over five years is really nothing when you compare it to a lot of other big events.

The weekend entry ticket is also an entry ticket for the whole of practice - that's another 10 hours of the cars on track. In my opinion, Le Mans has been incredible value for money for as long as I've been going. €2 per year increase is peanuts really.

To put it into perspective I just paid £34 for a single day pass for Rally Wales GB next month. That gets me access to realistically one stage which is repeated.

They seem to also seem to understand that by allowing a couple hundred thousand people along the start straight they create the unique atmosphere. Most other circuits have done away with these areas in favour of expensive stands and corporate enclosures and whilst the ACO has bowed to it a little on the inside of the track and in the Village the key areas remain accessible to all. Lets give the ACO credit where it is due. |

With you all the way there Mal. The ACO haven't jumped on the F1 pricing bandwagon - and let's face it, they've had years to do that. I used to go to GPs - then it got simply too expensive to watch an hour an a half of often processional racing. I regard Le Mans as stunning value for money.

Looks like the single-make support race for 2012 will be for Aston Martin GT4's:
