OK, I am due a bonus this month I believe (again!).
When are the Spark R10 and Pescarolo due out precisely in this country? All I know is they are darned expensive, but to hell with it. |

Autoart have announced the 2007 Porsche RS Spyder:-
http://www.biante.com.au/product_19516.htm I'll take the AutoArt over the new Norev, but as it's a 2007 car, there's no overlap with my current Norev 2005/6 Spyders. Edit, it's apparently fully opening. |

the only le mans models i have are the 2003 bentley, officially signed by all 3 drivers, with certificate of authenticity. And the Aston Martin #59 car. (i think its 59..cant remember). Both 1:18, both made by autoart. And both are beautiful models.

Having just been to the ALMS weekend at Mosport, my desire for these models has shot up.
I was already rather interested, but, having seen such vehicles "in action" in person, at the kind of close quarters, and the sort of corners, which Mosport offers, well, I am not sure terms like "awesome" and "breath-taking" can do them justice... I am doomed to spend money on such models now... |

Mosport - I am jealous Dutton. What a track for those cars to run on, always enjoy watching the coverage of that race.
Typical track for that side of the water though really, little in Europe matches up. |

Oh, man, I had just typed quite the long response, but accidentally tapped some key that made my browser go back...
Always happens the times I forget to Copy-X part way through...sigh... It drives me nuts. I remember, way back when, before one of the server/software upgrades, that if you did that you could go back and the text would still be there... Grumph. Oh, well. |

I was looking in a store today, and saw what looked very much like the R89C listed in post #136. What would be considered a sensible rate for one of those?
I also saw a Spark R10 (cannot remember the number), but I would be able to get it for either 80 or 105 bucks CDN. I cannot remember if it is 25% off that makes 100 or 25% off 100. If it is 80 bucks, then that is like 35-40 quid; if it is 105 bucks, then that is like 45-50 quid. From what I have been reading here, such a price should be considered fair. Is this a reasonable thing to think? I saw other models, some prototypes and some F1, with the normal ones being the 100-150 bucks range (roughly 45-70 quid): these seemed to be Minichamps/Spark mostly [some Autoart]. Are these prices a reasonable range? There were some Exotos which were hugely priced. I am not likely to pay such prices, but would like to know what is normal for Exoto? ****** I also saw a rather lovely Maserati MC12, as tested by Michael Schumacher in 2004 apparently, which is apparently one of a production run of 500-and-something. Following a quick look on-line, I reckon it is a "BBR Maserati MC12 Fiorano Test Car", with a production run of 506. It was going for 300-odd bucks: 350-375...say 375 for safety. That is like, say, 175 quid. I am going to have to work very hard to resist it...it is a simply beautiful model. Let us suppose I was to be weak and take it, at 375-CDN/175-quid, would that be an outrageous rip-off or not too bad? Last edited by Dutton; 5 Sep 2007 at 04:50. |

I have just thought that I should add all models mentioned are 1:18, and that the Maserati is not necessarily the one I have said I suspect it is.
If there are other possibilities that you think may fit what I have described, then please do shout. I would of course be making enquiries as to producer and such prior to any possible purchase, thus any thoughts whatsoever regarding such available models would be greatly appreciated. |

Well, that's me got my first prototype (got it from ebay). Just payed for it a minute ago: Bentey Speed 8 - Car no 7 - Autoart, 1:18.
Got it for CDN$63. CDN$85 including shipping. Nearly exactly 40 quid all told. It seemed like a reasonable price to me, especially considering it is, allegedly, "brand new and MIB". As much as it may hurt to know, I would very much like to know if I have just ripped myself off (would be good to know if it is an alright price, too). Last edited by Dutton; 5 Sep 2007 at 06:29. |

Well, I have done further research regarding the MC12.
It seems I could get it for a bit less, but the time I was to add on import taxes and such there would basically be nothing in it. The store has a 25% off thing going on atm...I don't know if this MC12 is included, but, if it is, then that immediately makes it easily the cheapest option available. Either way it would be with me instantly...I think I am going to be weak and get it...it is just so damn nice...but I shouldn't...but I think I will... Anyway, enough of resin non-LM-winners: back to the topic. |

Well, got the Spark '06 R10 No.8 today for CDN$95 (about 45 quid). Considering it was purchased in a store, I don't think it is too bad a price.
****** I couldn't resist the MC12 in the end, but got it for CDN$285 (about 130 quid). It is a bit wasteful for what is purely a solid resin mould, but it really does look very cool. It hurts a bit to knowingly con myself, but it is about as good as it gets price wise me thinks. Of course, the nature of the beast means it took about 5 seconds of the top of the packing to be off for the dust to start sticking to it (couldn't resist having a quick look): I will resist opening it again until I have some kind of case to put it in. I really shouldn't have bought it...too expensive for what it is, in the end - but it is neat. Once I get over the cost, well, I will like having it, . I am going to get the rather shiny metallic Exoto 313T4, then force myself to stop buying for a few months. Last edited by Dutton; 5 Sep 2007 at 22:42. |

Minichamps should be around 35-40 Pounds (can't type pound sign on PS3!)
Autoart 40-50, with Millenium models like the Mazda 787B 60-75 Latest Sparks 55-65 Exoto 100+, with some good bargains on ebay. |

Grand, I got some decent deals then. Particularly with the Exoto one I got. Not including S&H, I got it for 60 quid.
