Great looking bike that Aprilia, just a shame of the tiny seat. |

I think thats a porr decision really. They ahve the talent in Max, surely they could have gone a little more ambitious and put someone like Pitt, Hoffman, Guinters on the bike?
But I guess Nakano is a safe pair of hands and is fgood at development, remember the Kawasaki has been ****e since he left the team! |

Max isn't really proven as a development rider, so Shinya might be a sensible choice. It seems surreal that Ducati, Aprillia and KTM now all have factory riders from Japan - was this level of acceptance of Japanese riders a gradual thing, or are the European makes targeting the Japanese markets? I'd definitely rate Nakano as a better choice than Hoffman or Guintoli though.
Also, Pitt's 2009 ride may be better than Aprillia would be - they have to relearn the class and the bike is unproven, while the Pitt/Ten Kate package is proven, a WSBK ride with the team might open up for 2010, and he'd still have ever chance of landing a ride elsewhere, especially as a triple Supersport. champion |

Is it possible they got Nakano on the cheap?
But yes, I'm a bit surprised at the choice. |

Kawasaki drops PSG-1. Can't say that I blame them. Paul Bird Motorsport is said to be in position to get the factory backing. Not sure if that is good or bad, as I don't know much about the team.

Eell Bird has a lot of money himself, but most of his teams have been part funded by him and part form sponsors.
If he has a big sponsor to bring in he will do it, but cant imagine he is paying for bikes!! He has won many races in the UK for Ducati with Hislop and Byrne and also ran pretty quick Honda;s up against full on HRC bikes, but hasnt been as succesful since leaving Ducati. |

Paul Bird has run some impressive teams I have to admit. It's a shame he sometimes doesn't know to keep his mouth shut.
Kawasaki are making some big changes. They've also announced that there's going to be a new factory supported team in World Supersport. It will be the Provec Motocard.com Kawasaki team. Motocard are now running the team with Joan Lascorz. He will be riding one of the Kawasaki's next year. The other rider will be Fujiwara . I hope they build a proper bike for Lascorz, he's been very impressive this year. |

I think Bird somehow deserves the right to be a little bit open mouthed if he wants to!! If he is supplying most of teh cash to run teh thing he is more than welcome to voise his concerns or criticisms, right or not!!

It's official, Paul Bird Motorsports gets Kawasaki backing. I think Tamada has another year, so that leaves one spot open.

Hopefully Lavilla has something else lined up, he was pretty solid in 2008 (top privateer, indeed). Parkes might be alright but Tamada has been off-form for too long for me to have any real expectations of him. Lascorz and the Motocard team are a fantastic addition to their racing roster though - they worked miracles on low funding last year.

Broc Parkes on a Kawasaki ? They're well suited.
The most mediocre of riders on the most mediocre of bikes. |

I also believe Hannspree have cut the budget somewhat to Stiggy motorsport. The Stiggy CBR1000RR has to be developed, so, I don't know if you want your guy on that bike... |

I wouldnt say Brookes has a bad image really? He seems to enjoy himself and is a bit ofa prankster, I think he will get on fine int eh UK.
Rolfo would have bought his way into Stiggy, remember Hanspree came with him to Ten Kate and he somehow made a team for himself last year, and was so awful even the money coldnt keep him there!! Good for Mugga's though, I think he actually dida good job last year after many yeras of sucking on a Superbike! |
