That'll serve me right for getting excited...

...who could be bothered...and I never went before for the V8's...but I was looking forward to a good GT race...You gotta have a good support race...The F1 cars are not out there enough, what are you going to do between qualifying and the race...the Aussie racing cars are only so exciting...I'll save my money I think...

That is really poor form...

I say bring the thing to Qld in 2008...along with the Rally and the Indy...I know I would be happy...

Now the REAL VALUE of the F1 cars has just dawned on everyone. GT3 or V8Supercars not on the bill, so why go? I think the AGP's days are numbered.

I enjoy racing but it has to be value for money.

I reckon AGP 2007 is subsidising the shortfall of the 2006 Commonwealth games and the average glitterati and stilletorati haven't twigged yet!

I am not finacially gifted myself!!but I did manage to sell my grandmother and make the LM2004.It is a fantastic event, massive.Watching Audi A8 at 360km/h at 8am on Mulsanne is priceless, the street parade was impressive, people were friendly and it's cheap admission.
Just get over there..I will, I have one grandmother left!! ha ha ha

Well I have just read that there is no GT3 at the GP which is very frustrating. I'm glad I didn't book accomodation over the weekend. Aussie racers at the F1?? You must be joking.
I will be focusing on the Historic Phillip island event the week before which will be miles ahead of the GP.

See now there you go. I can't figure out why people get excited about historic racing.

It is just yesterdays racing cars after all........................

I enjoy all sorts of Motor Racing, but not a sham like that, what value do you get out of the expensive tickets? Very little indeed. Better go home and watch it on TV.

Same can be said about alot of motor racing events these days. For example one that ran on the weekend.

Is TV the future of motorsport (even more than it is now)

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
a 3 day grandstand ticked for PI is $115 or 70 for a 3 day general admission a sunday ticket is $50

a sunday ticket is $99 for the GP or $175 for four days. grandstands start at over $300 and go up to $600

you get alot better value from your v8 ticket.
you get about 3 races on the sunday and maybe 4 on the saturday at the GP, buy you do get to here an F1 at full noise (although in my opinion a v8 turbo is a much sweeter sounding machine)

There is a monumentous difference in watching Formula 1 and a domestic touring car race.

Not saying that both arent expensive but there is a difference.

No doubt but if individuals keep making the choice to attend then prices will stay the same.

Agreed, so those prices should drop dramatically for 08 after 07 is a desert with a race in the middle . Ticket prices might end up around Winton prices which would then make going good value!

Unless ofcourse common sense prevails and the peoples favourite Supercars return then its worth a few extra bucks

Say that enough Bazil and maybe even you will start to believe it.

This whole thing is disappointing as AGP Corp had a viable and interesting main support ready to go and then its out there control what they can show at there own event.

Well it sounds like the FIA GT3 and the AGP organisers did not do their homework. If the rift between FIA GT3 and Bernie was that bad, why did they go ahead and announce the FIA GT3 was attending.?Basil I am with you bring back the V8Supercars and stick to a tried and true formula.

The AGP is primarily an event, a social occasion, an excuse to get dressed up & partake of your favourite liquids.
V8 only followers wont be missed.

If you dont understand an event in Melbourne check out the Spring Carnival - people partying in the car park, not a horse in site - record crowds this year.

The Boxing Day test is a sell out - 95000+ at the MCG - the place to be.

They didnt announce anything, it was outside parties who started talking.

And Robert how do you know the issue isnt a one thing with Bernie. Wouldnt be the first time.
